I still don't understand how this happened.
I use Kaspersky Internet Security, the best antivirus suite with double firewall, anti-keylogger protection, safe money where it redirects you to an encrypted browser whenever you're signing in to important sites
I always sign in to Amazon through an Amazon.com link I have bookmarked on my browser.
I have 2 step verification on it with my iPhone which is fingerprint proofed. I never received any text for it.
My account was unhacked. The credit cards I had on Amazon were not touched. As far as I can tell there was no access to my Amazon account. I went in and changed my password anyway and removed all my cards for now just in case.
And yet someone used my Amazon store card to make 2 purchases on Twitch.com, one for $29 and another for $165
I contacted them, they issued me another card now and will fix this. Synchrony Bank issues the amazon store card.
All I can think is they either had a data breach and someone got their hands on card numbers including mine. If you google Synchrony bank data breach, it has happened in the past, of course, Synchrony bank will deny this.
As far as I know, an amazon employee can't do this, they cannot see my card numbers.
Someone got my amazon store card numbers and possibly, added this number to their new or bogus amazon account and with this, they signed up or bought something on twitch.com, cause if they had ordered through amazon with an address to be shipped to them, it may have caused a red flag on their amazon account and it wouldn't have been shipped. I have no idea how they did it.
Maybe they simply added my amazon store card as payment to their twitch.com account
and since amazon and twitch are the same, it was accepted
