Greetings Styleforum, first time poster here and in need of advice. I am 26 year old male, 5'09", 145 lbs, starting to build a collection of cloths from scratch, with a particular look in mind. Until this point I never really cared how I looked or dressed, so I am a bit of noob when it comes to having fashion sense.
The particular look I want to build my wardrobe on is a sophisticated, dark/edgy look. Nothing too loud or out of control like punk; I guess what I am going for is something like a sharply dressed goth with a little attitude. (I know it doesn't make much sense but bear with me.)
The first piece of clothing I got for this collection is the leather jacket (image links posted below). It is from the Trish Summervillie Dragon Tattoo collection in collaboration with H&M. I'd like to style myself somewhat like Lisbeth Salander from the David Fincher adaption of "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo". I felt she had a uniquely, dark style without looking like a hot topic goth. Any tips and advice on where and what to look for would be greatly appreciated. I'd like suggestions on what cloths would compliment the jacket as well.
Also on a side note how could I determine the quality of the jacket? I have read that H&M isn't known for consistent quality. Supposedly the jacket is made of 100% lamb skin leather and it feels very soft and lightweight. I just don't know how I would go about determining if this is one of those jackets that could last a few decades. Pictures of the jacket in question are below.
