ok, I will respond to myself. Drinking took its toll this weekend-- had a proper workout planned for the morning but I just did 4.5 instead. Need a day off to get motivation and legs back.

Ran 3.6 miles over the Queensboro Bridge On Satuday in 25:52. Then relaxed for the rest of the weekend. Need to get some working out in this week before the race on Saturday.

I got in 6.25 miles this morning before work. I run most mornings but I've been running this specific route at least 2x a week for about the past two weeks. It's interesting to compare my times and the splits each day. Today's time was about 2 minutes off of my best but 3 minutes better than my worse - so essentially right in the middle.

Looking at my splits, my first five minutes today were considerably slower than the first five minutes on any of the other days. That about corresponds to how I was feeling when I hit the ground this morning.

5 miles at a scarily slow 8'48" pace. Really dropped off the last 1.5 miles. Amazing how much endurance I lost when a tweaked SI joint sidelined me for 2 weeks.

5.3 miles in 36:37 this morning in Central Park. Legs felt good but tapering is not fun.

amen to that.
will get out for 4 or 5 today, but I need to run slowly which gets more and more challenging the more rest I have. I arrived in San Diego to get ready for my race last night, and it is beautiful here, a nice distraction from the aggravation of the taper.
