Locations: Pasadena store opens Thursday; Beverly Center on Oct. 26 and Arcadia's Westfield Santa Anita mall in November. (South Coast in the Spring) Bet you feel like that chick in the Mervyn's ad 5-10 years ago... "Open, open, open, open, open..."

i went with a coworker to check out h&m last friday. we waited about 10 minutes to get in and it was pretty claustrophobic with so many people in there. the fitting room line was like 30 people long so we found a corner with a mirror and tried on there (we both happened to be wearing tank tops under our shirts ^_^) . i ended up getting a shirt for 12 bucks, woo. i really liked how all the accessories were so cheap too.

i probably wont go back for a few more weeks, but i liked some of the stuff i saw in the "young trend" section or whatever. i liked a shirt i saw in a picture on one of the walls but i did not see it in the store. hmmmmmmmmm.

the space in the santa anita mall seems pretty large, it takes up a whole corner. i'm interested to see what that one looks like when it opens.

ugh....that line is gonna be INSANE the first month...esp so near Xmas. I'm still debating on whether or not it's worth it to endure the line and crowd to check it out opening weekend....

Awww crap. WHAT the hell is the reasoning behind this??? I guess now there's no comparing selection at stores for us. I have a hard time imagining stock at Beverly being anything but crap for the first 6 months if not longer. What a shame. Good luck on the interview.

Hmm are you sure about that? They have pictures of guy's clothing at the store and ads for it around the mall. Interesting. BTW, where did you hear this? It said in the LA Times that the Beverly/SA locations would have men/women/babies.

yeah that's why was confused too... it seems like its gonna be pretty decent sized. i heard it from someone that also went to an interview. merely rumors i guess. i'll try to find out for sure, cause that's kind of lame.

Yeah, I guess we'll see in a bit. How did your interview go?

REALLY LAME. at the beginning of the interview the chick goes "We've just been notified today that the store opening has been pushed back to december 14" i was like "...." the rest of the interview was normal blah blah. needless to say i'm continuing my job search.

i forgot to ask if they were gonna carry men's though, dammit. i was too irritated/distracted/nervous and thinking about how much it sucked.

Wow, that's going to be really fun to work at H&M starting Dec 14... are you looking for a sales associate position? Judging from how much running back and forth the associates at the H&M in Pasadena had to do, I'm not sure that's the best choice for a job heh

There was an article in the local paper today where the GM of the Santa Anita mall talks about their H&M (santa anita) being both men and women...but he might not be the best source of accurate info since at one point in the article he mentions H&M as being a restaurant (?!!)

HAHHAHA... Which paper was this? That reminds me of the simpsons quote: Homer: Man, I love eating free samples. Bart: Dad, you ate all the food samples. Now you're just eating mens slacks. Homer: Meh, still better than Indian food.

Arcadia is open. it's right outside the JC Penney's. two floors, pretty good size. 1st floor is about 60-70% mens clothing. rest is women's.

first time H&Mer and i'm impressed, especially with the pricing on their outerwear and blazers. didn't pick up anything since i wasn't really in the mood. but i'll definitely be back post holiday season.

any other SFers check it out today?

and yes, if you're not super skinny, i think the H&M peacoats (they have two models) would fit the bill for a slim fit peacoat.
