Newer looks better on deco. But old SJII on TG73, vintage cherry is the definitive adelaide, imo.

This is what I thought. On deco the new one looks better. Maybe because deco is so narrow that the design makes it look wider. I think on a different last opinions might differ.

Prefer the new design but love the old as well. I have them in Rioja and polo suede. Hmm what other color...

I be damned for saying this but i can't see how much more curvy the new pair is compared to the old one.

Didn't the OP mention they were made on the same last.

It's not the Last but the Brogue lines that make it appear more curvy.

I do.

Package from St. Nick (Bespoke England)! St. James II in TG73 in Cherry... a classic:

For those keeping tabs these were ordered before 2015 so I'm still at ZERO new purchases

Just beautiful, the St. James is a masterpiece...

I'm not a huge G&G fan, but I am a huge fan of The St James II. Congrats!!

Nice. Yeah, the St James II in Vintage Cherry is a must. Even for people who think they could never pull it off (You most definitely can...), it is the most iconic G&G shoe. Well worth the premium. My favorite and most worn shoe.

I agree in that the St. James II is their most iconic shoe and all should give it a chance. I love the vintage cherry and that is worth the try as well, but I think that more people can pull it off than most would think.

Looking at the St James II old and new designs side by side - exact same models on the exact same last.

Old

New

Old

New

Both are stunning - and I can see how the new design looks much more refined, with a much stronger "bespoke" feel. But dammit, I still have mad love for the old version.

^I like the look of the newer version of St James II based on these pictures. Somehow the brogueing seems a bit bolder.

It is the new for me! There is more shape to it which makes a huge difference for me.

agreed! it makes a huge difference to show how the lines themselves can make such a difference, even when on the same last with the same basic style of shoe.

Now if only I could figure out how to do so with an IPad and no hard keyboard.

Two options...

1. Switch to desktop instead of mobile view and you will have the same icon as always
2. If staying with mobile view, type in the spoiler command after you quote the post

Gents, I would appreciate a quick help. I have never been overly fond of a GG, until recently. I was happy with the JL & EG, but decided it's the time to explore bit of a GG too.

What GG last would be most similar to the Edward Green 202 (roundest possible)? Would that be a GG06?

Also, if I wear a UK9.5 in EG202, do you suggest me to purchase the same size in GG?

Thanks!
