I intend to wear more linen this summer. It's a lot less dressy than fresco, but far more elegant. They each have their uses.

I'd like a cream linen suit. But I imagine that would look weird at the office; it would certainly not be acceptable if I knew a client was going to catch a glimpse of me.

tangent: is "crepe" the same as "fresco"?

You would be knotted up in anxiety in a cream linen suit.

I would relegate this to one of those things best left to others. I have a cream linen odd jacket in 14oz linen from W. Bill by the MBT™ almost ready...but such is not for you.

A nice tan linen, though...that I can see you doing.

Is he going to pre-fuzz it for you?

I think that they need to do that at the tailor since it doesn't appear to happen reliably in the wearing.

Anxiety, why? I already have it envisioned: double breasted, patch pockets, unlined.

Off topic, but...

I ordered an end bolt MTM from Spano at Saks today, too. They had a beautiful 10oz Smith POW in mid blue so I figured, what the hell.

He has a new extremely soft shouldered model that I'm doing with a 1/4 lining.

A cream linen suit is the least anonymous thing one can wear save one: the white suit.

You would literally turn all heads. Are you prepared to go another magnitude in that direction?

Plus, aren't you a messy eater? A cream suit is one noodle slurp away from disaster.

Moreover, a cream linen suit is incompatible with subway/bus/cab. You had better be able to walk wherever you wish to go or have a car and driver.

You're really rolling with this, aren't you.

I'm with Vox on this one. You're already squirming about weather clients would see you in it.

You should start with something subtle, like this:
