Williams has effectively admitted they shouldn’t have renewed his contract for this year.

My thoughts exactly, F1 is doing everything they can to capture the US market, but having someone on a team simply because he is American, which seems to be the case here, is just stupid. I don't know anyone that is an actual fan of F1 that gives two ***** out Sargent.

I have no issues with this move, even 1 or 2 points for Williams can mean millions more in prize money at the end of the year and with only one car on the grid they have an exponentially better chance of scoring with Albon driving.

Also, how did Lando Norris leave last season looking like he was 17 and came back from the break as a 30 year old..?

I like Gunther Steiner, but damn...
He needs a closed captioning monitor around his neck when he does interviews.

Magnussen swearing when interviewed by Steiner was great.

Russell on this crash:

George Russell speaking to Sky Sports F1 about his incident on the last lap with Fernando Alonso:

"My take is I've gone off and that's on me. I was half a second behind Fernando 100m before the corner then suddenly he came towards me extremely quick and I was right on his gearbox. I don't know if he had a problem or not.

"He's off to the stewards and that's a bit bizarre in a circumstance like this. I've got nothing more to say right now. I need to see everything, just disappointed to end the race like that.

"It's clear he braked 100m before the corner and was back on the throttle again and took the corner normally. We've already seen the data of that."

On whether Alonso brake tested him:

"I'm not going to accuse him of anything until we see further. I was right behind him for many, many laps. I was half a second behind him before the corner

"Then, suddenly he slowed up dramatically and got back on the power. I wasn't expecting it and he caught me by surprise. That part is on me. It's interesting he's been called by the stewards. I'm intrigued as to what they have to say."

Well done to Sainz. The comeback and that pass on Verstappen was top class.
