since i get mocked for not wearing LV monogramed shirts or wear gucci monogrammed shoes or carry a big monogrammed handbag (NO I REFUSE TO CALL IT A TOTE BAG!!!!!!!!!!!!!) or have a tag heuer watch (instead of my rolex daytona) constantly, and where people ask me wheres all my branded ****, nobody asks me where i get my stuff, therefore life is semi great for me. on one hand, i do not ever need to share styleforum with everyone, and on the other, everyones like some super brandwhore (wrong ones nonetheless)

Singapore sucks

My wife wonders why I am stupid enough to post my pic on the net, but she was raised by wolves and hates all technology

The solution is to marry her. Then you'll be more of an embarassment to her than a joke. She'll stop showing your posts to her friends pronto.

I wouldn't post if mine lurked on here. She mentioned it to her co-workers in front of me, and later I had to pull her aside and politely ask not to do that again.

I haven't told too but one or two people about this resource of ours. I don't think it would be received very well.

My wife can't stand it, she thinks we are all completely insane. She actually refers to pre-SF TC and post-SF TC, like I underwent some type of programming or something. I've had to eliminate all SF browsing at home because it was causing too many tense moments. And she has worked in the fashion industry since she was 15, so it's not like she isn't interested in clothing herself. She has just not ever seen it obsessed about on this level. She has actually encouraged me to look into buying another sports car, I think in the hopes that it will distract me from this.

She has also outed me to a few family members. At Christmas last year, obviously I received several articles of clothing. My brother took note of a few interesting things and started asking me some questions. My wife cut him off and said "oh you won't believe this, your brother actually dresses up and takes pictures of himself to post on the internet so that a bunch of guys can comment." My brother said something to the effect of, "last week in LA I saw two guys kissing in the park, and until right now, that was the gayest thing I had ever seen."

So, yeah, I pretty much keep it to myself.

I think your brother gave the quintessential response to hearing about this site, one I was absolutely sure I'd get if I told where I learned about said shoe trees.

I mentioned SF to a pal of mine and he derided me for it.
Then I found out he regularly peruses the discussion sections on Craigslist!

I'm pretty sure my blog has helped alienate me from my family more than we already were. For whatever reason, people seem to find an interest in style or aesthetics threatening.

my gf knows because every once in a while I mention something I learned off here...then there's the posts I have to read to her because they're so ludicrous (i.e. some of the snobbery)... i'm pretty sure she thinks the forum is really gay and thinks i'm weird for posting on here, but she still loves me so it's all good

Now I have a mess to clean up. I went against my gut which told me not to eat while reading this thread.
