l-r Rider Boot RBCB8 chromexcel with crepe sole, AS for BB burgundy scotch grain, AS for BB suede (both with Dainite sole)

Got the BB's during a F&F sale last year for well under $200/pair and they are well worth it. I've had the Riders since this spring and am sure they will be the durable choice for foul weather. (Past due for some Saphir treatment)

I have all 3 of the AS for BB Dainite Chukkas. Black, Burgundy, and Brown Suede. Damn, that burgundy is awfully red, but they are great boots. Sleek enough, but sturdy enough too. A nice happy medium between the pointy toed chukkas and the blobby Alden version.

Our winter's are relatively mild here in Australia, but I have worn the Brecon through the tail end of winter and through what is turning out to be an unseasonally wet spring. I will get photos for you later.

1. You can actually see the storm welt on the Chepstow 2.

Kinda. A storm-welted boot is not waterproof, but IME it will let in a lot less water than a standard GY welt.

in my experience Sestriere both feels softer and wears (slightly) faster than Dainite. It also seems lighter/less dense but I can't be sure of this.

The BB burgundy chukkas do go through a very red phase. If you stick with it, they pass into a much more subtle range of colors. I'm on my second pair, both worn very hard in a host of conditions - snow, salt water, summer sun. They are durable and you don't need to baby them one bit.

I have these also; very solid, though I would not recommend the dainite sole on snow - I find it to be too slippery.

They are a less expensive imitation of Dainite.
Good but not as good as the authentic Dainites
