I just bought a very nice RL Black Lable black cotton blazer (from this forum). I am wondering if I can make it into a suit by getting matching pair of black pants. Does anyone do this?
On a side note, what pants pairs the best with a black blazer? I know most people on here arent a fan of black I'm really not either but this blazer fits me like a glove so I want to get use out of it. Besides jeans, what would work?

Thanks.

It is possible, I did this with a Polo linen sportcoat and pants a while back.

If you still have the store tags the fabric serial number is usually listed there (or maybe on the manufacturer tag inside jacket), this should allow you to find the matching pants through a RL store or NWT on Ebay.

You can probably buy the matching pants from Ralph Lauren Black Label. They sell a lot of cotton suit jackets separately from the pants but they can bought together to make a suit. In any other situation I would say, no, don't buy pants and try to match them to a suit, but in this case they are sold separately and intended to be put together to make a suit.

Sure anything's possible, but it's going to be a real crapshoot.

The older the season of the harder it will be to track down, especially in the correct size. It could be worth the effort, but I'd err on the side of being happy with just the jacket. Then, if the corresponding pants pop up, consider them an unexpected surprise. Good luck.

I do still have the store tag. I checked out RL.com and their black lable pants and they have a cottn pair in black but they were over $200. I'll check out a couple RL stores.
