Jealous of the launch, although I'd have stood out like a sore thumb!

Ugh. Bought some ties from Drake's and went with Royal Mail Signed For, since it said 5-7 days. I would have paid for a better shipping option, but couriers only promised 3-5 days, and an added 2 days doesn't really matter, right? Turns out that when you don't cough for a courier, the parcel actually gets stuck in customs, potentially for weeks.  Just a heads up so nobody else gets sucked in.

Must be a new development as when I have used that option before it was never an issue.

Me, neither. All my stuff from the UK has been sent by Royal Mail as their "small packet service" is very reasonably priced and I've always received it in a week to a week-and-a-half.

Gents can I get some quick opinions?

Going to an afternoon wedding tomorrow with an evening reception. I'm thinking of an Italian background look, and will be wearing dark brown suit and a royal blue grenadine tie. For the shirt, I can't decide between solid white or solid pale blue. Thoughts?

I vote solid pale blue.

Dont forget the PS.

And a nice scent, of course.

Not sure about the solid pale blue shirt, guys. Royal isn't as dark as navy and the shirt might overpower it.

Also, given that you might stick around till evening, white might be a safer choice.

Do you have a shirt with white ground and veeeery pale blue stripes?

Pale blue - then when it gets dark - slip out to car and put on the fresh ironed white shirt you have hanging in the back of the car.

Folks I want to update you on the resolution to my DHL saga. I got this email today from Mr Porter

Please accept our apologies for your most recent experience with DHL. Your comments have been noted and we have been in contact with DHL to try to prevent this from occurring again in future.

We have looked into your tracking which indicates that you now have your order. Therefore if there is anything else we can assist with please do not hesitate to contact us.

In the meantime we have refunded the original shipping charge of 20 GBP back onto the credit card used to make the purchase. We hope this has not discouraged you from shopping with us again in future.

Now there's a company that understands service!
