Colour is a brown suede - I can get pics if you like. Preferably I would like to cover my brothers costs, I believe it cost him approx AUD115 plus shipping I suppose (not sure how much they are domestically?). Still assessing my options, but let me know if your interested.

That'd be me with the suit.

Gotto get my act together sometime and organise a swap meet / boot sale - I've got a bunch of stuff that I don't want or doesn't fit.

Or that's what a typical scarf-fearing Aussie might feel.

Good idea actually. Remind me to get myself some hardy beater shoes for rainy days. Any suggestions (though I still am not a fan of chunky shoes)?

I've always had a soft spot for galoshes - but haven't owned a pair for years. They seem practical, sensible and non fussy.

The foyer in the SKR gallery, or Fed Square?

I enjoyed it too. Nice to put faces to some pseudonyms. Thanks again fxh.

No pics, but I can report that, scandalously, there was only one pocket square to be seen in the entire group. Outfits ranged from sport coats and slacks to coat, scarf and jeans, to relaxed and comfortable (self). Attendees managed to make themselves mostly presentable, particularly in comparison to the rev-head brigade wandering around.

Outside of comments at the exhibition there was little talk of clothing. The subject of some people's lack of marital status came up quite a bit, perhaps as a consequence of jealous middle-age. I learned that just because a Penguin Classic has a Greek motif on the cover does not mean it is Homer. (Thucydides in this case).

Hi Tobias.

Op shops are fun, but very hit and miss. You need to go a lot and try lots of different places.

If you're quick, Recycle Republic in Auburn is having a going out of business sale with everything at least 50% off, but still way above op shop prices. I was there a while back and they had lots of Zegna, Brioni etc. Sale ends 31st March.

Circa in Gertrude St does a good line in vintage clothing.

I once looked in on a second-hand clothing store in the Nicholas building called Retrostar. They seemed to have a lot of stuff but I didn't get a good look, as they were about to close for the day. Might be worth a try.
