I know you're in Brisbane - but I'm guessing shipping between Sydney and Brisbane will be remarkably cheaper.

Question guys,

Suppose a shoe store opened that sold English style shoes (oxfords, derbys, brogues) with decent leather but with a glued sole - would you lot buy from it?

Probably - I'm not so gah gah for Goodyear welting. I can't imagine that shoes I wear will require much re-soling (I topy).

I wouldn't panic - the GBP has been on a slide vs the USD just as we have been on an up with USD and GBP.

The GBP isn't going to get any better with the usd any time soon.

I don't see the aud getting less than 82c and possibly only getting to 85C in the next 5 years.

But who knows ..??

What I can say with some certainty, or not, is that it will probably be a random walk down to 85C or so. Or higher. Or lower.

85C is only $10- 15 in a $100 - $40 - $60 in $400 - different than now. Prices here will both come down as an effect of retailers realising that we can shop online and some prices here will go up. But income will probably rise by at least CPI over the next 5 years. CPI increases on income over 5 year might well = the drop in aud/usd cost. Or it might not.

I wouldn't be hedging my money just yet. Certainly not with CBA Financial Planners
