I have the Northlands and I went down .5 from my Brannock size. So they fit large. Was looking for someone who actually owns them to comment on the Northland mocs - after BITJ raved about the Kirkwood so long last year and picked up like 12 pairs I reluctantly got one myself and despite it being the lesser ae by AE line, it's miles above any of the drivers I own. Trouble is the sole is not only bright white, it's soft as hell. The Northland looked like it might improve on everything I didn't like about the Kirkwood - I'm in the minority but I actually like the look and feel of the chromepak, its sort of waxy but grainy. Sole isn't white, and it's also much more rigid. But since the B&M stores have to be super efficient and only carry sizes between 9 & 10 I haven't tried one. I'm concerned they'll fit overly large and I'll look like I'm going out (in denim, khakis, etc.) wearing a pair of sandmans or something like that. Thanks in advance.
They have a nice sleek look IMO. Look really good with tapered denim sans sox. The sole is a lot harder than the Kirkwood one. It is a hard rubber sole with specks.
The chromepac is horween so it is high quality leather. I think that Horween treats it with a lot of oils etc. So, you just need to brush it for dust. It kinda lightens up at crease points too, which I like. Smells great too. The leather is so thick that I don't think it will expand as much as CXL. I have no experience with chromepac but I think it's gonna look great with age.
