This is my first time participating in one of these, so forgive me if I r doin it rong. These threads seem to have disappeared during the holiday season, but it's time to bring them back.
I have used the same credit card for all my purchases for the past 3 years, yet it wasn't until 3 months ago that I memorized the number.
The reason? Too many online purchases (many of which were SF-influenced). Some were thought out, many others were impulse buys to take advantage of holiday sales, but combined with a few local purchases I figure it's time to give it a break. (This week I bought myself some cologne and a hat. I've never worn cologne or hats)
I know you guys usually limit this to clothing purchases a month at a time, but I want to see how far into the new year I can keep this up. Here are my own goals (in increasing level of difficulty):
1. Buy no clothing/accessories/furniture/housewares/etc. at retail price.
2. Buy nothing new unless it's on deep discount.
3. Buy nothing new unless it will fill a need, I've given it a few weeks' thought/research, and it's on deep discount.
4. Buy nothing new. (Maybe a good thrift buy will curb the desire for new stuff).
5. Buy nothing for myself.
I figure I can keep 1 all year, 2-3 into S/S, and 4~5 a month or two.
Anyone else in?
