How do the Formosa jackets fit? Specifically are they cut for flat bodies or for people with pronounced chests? Wanted to know if there's extra front balance for larger sizes 52/54.

Mackintosh question: are they waterproof or repellant? I didn't see any in the description. Also, is the grey any more-or-less-so than the other colors? I ask only because the grey's texture looks more like raw wool than the navy/brown which appears more refined (and I suspect may have a different type of NWR treatment, if at all).

Seriously considering the gray since Frank's pic...

well, im not sure how to answer this, but my chest is far from flat, pronounced would be a nice way to describe my muscular football player like chest, and the jacket (in my size, 54) fit beautifully in the chest. the 52 also fit pretty well in the chest, but the in the belly was no bueno, quarters opened up like a beggars hand in downtown charm city.

I'm going to say water repellant, though Greg or Edouard will know best.

It's raining out today. Maybe I should go stand outside in it. :)

I will let some of the people who tried it on chime in as well, but I would say the chest is definitely not lean, it has some swell. The most salient aspect of the cut is the long lapel roll from a wide lapel to a low buttoning point. Front is longer than back.

Yes, the shell is 100% wool so the water resistance has its limits. I would say that it's reasonably repellent (water poured on it rolls rather than getting absorbed) but with the caveat that it is quilted and therefore covered with stitching - and that's where soaking water will likely penetrate (rather than the wool itself).

Grey one has the same hand and feel - but the mixed yarns make it look a little more flanelly

I tried on the 52 and 54. The 52 is close to American 42R - slightly slimmer across the upper back and shoulders.

The 54 fits nicely across the shoulders and a TON of drape in the chest (quite full). 45.5/46" of chest fits in easily. I think this could accomodate 48/49" of chest

Anymore knit cardigans? Shawl neck preferably. I am losing hope this season from the slim selection I'm seeing around.

I just want something cozy to wear while in the office that is not too out of place for me say with a jacket/SC. Everyone is in OCBDs or spread collars sans tie if there are no events. Meetings are also of the same standard except for the speaker, which I do not have to worry about :embar:
