I wonder why...is it just because navy shell doesn't match the usual Alden aesthetic? Although, if they can make something in navy CXL, then navy shell shouldn't be that much of a stretch. But I guess this is Alden we're talking about...

Who here has the Unlined Suede LHS with the flex soles. How is the fit compared to other LHS lined and unlined. I would imagine they would stretch out some. Is the sole flimsy vs the normal single sole? Thanks for any imput .. Contemplating a light tan model .. My princess is tired of so many brown/#8 shoes.biggrin.gif

The Navy CXL PTBs are damn awesome looking. I've only seen them in person at Alden SF and they were the coolest non-shell shoe I've seen by Alden.

Like I said in another post...I'd love to see some shell saddles with blue mid-foots in shell of course too.

would be a disaster for Alden if they used navy shell cordovan- it would bring in more business and they would make more money

Whew that's a good point! What a burden that would be.

It really is quite rediculous how long they take...to do...anything...however, if we could walk down to JCP and buy a pair...I doubt there would be as much of a following or we'd be on here writing about them.

It is amazing how AE can offer an MTO in fairly anything...yet Alden remains a cold distant regime. Alden sometimes reminds me of Slugworth in Willy Wonka.

While navy shell looks and sounds interesting, how many of us here would actually prefer blue over ravello, cigar, or even color 8?  If the supply of shell is finite (or even in short supply), I'm not buying the argument that navy shell would increase their business and profits.  I would argue that blue shell would actually harm their profitability once the novelty wore off (Alden could sell ravello and cigar MUCH easier than navy).  I have no problem with Alden prioritizing their traditional shell colors.  I'm more curious as to why they don't produce more of the most sought after models in shell (i.e. plaza lasted boots, ravello SWB, etc...).

Well I don't think plaza lasted boots are sought after outside of this forum

Suited up again with the 9015 today.  This time paired with a charcoal instead of last week's navy.  Herringbone instead of yesterday's solid charcoal.

Both models are great. Well done.

The 9015 and 9016, or their BB brethren, are business staples for many of us that buy Aldens, at least in part, for professional business dress. And the same goes for the 2160 and 2161, or their BB brethren.

I hope Alden sticks with the shell colors they have. nod[1].gif
