If I take an 8.5d in Barrie what will I be in the Leydon?

I'm an 8.5D in Barrie, too. In Leydon, I own a pair of 9.5C suede chukkas and they fit me just as perfectly as the Barrie shoes I own. I suspect a 9D in Leydon would be equally comfortable.

I believe the sizes ordered were for more common sizes. I wonder is this was a pilot run for them to see the demand.

Any Alden retailer worth their salt knows the demand for rare shells. (and the shoemart certainly does)

Why they order full size runs of all of their cigar, ravello, whiskey, but not #4 is beyond me...

my frustration is compounded by the fact they know my size, told me about the imminent arrival of #4's yet didn't mention the lack of larger sizes until I asked them where the 11.5s were. :fu:

If I may cross post with the MTO thread, there are two proposals out for an Alden make up. sfactor has suggested a black cap toe combat boot. Mr. Chorizo is stumping for a black long wing in a combo of pebble grain and shell. Both are interesting ideas for black shoes. Both make ups have 4-5 people ready to commit. If anyone is interested in joining the MTO list, please come on over.

Gentlemen, I posted the following on the Alden MTO Forum Group Buy:

In 2009, Tassels offered the Alden Combat Boot in Black Smooth Calf -

http://www.tassels.com.hk/en/made_to_order_details.php?id=8

I am looking for 11 other people who would be interested in approaching Epaulet about a special order of these shoes.

- Trubalance Last (the only change I am proposing - originally came on Barrie last)

- Premium Extra Smooth Calf in Black

- Flat waxed shoes lace

- matching eyelets

- Rugged Commando Sole

- Pull tab

Gentlemen, nobody is offering this type of shoe - let's get this done now, so that it will be available by the fall.
Who's in?

if you're interested -

on the subject of black MTO Aldens...
I've been wanting a black shoe, but most are just so...boring. I propose a longwing (on barrie, leydon, just not plaza), with black pebble grain on the botton half, black shell on the vamp/body, and black pebble again on the lace portion.
pretty much this exact shoe, but in black pebble/black shell.

I think a commando sole/ matched black eyelets, would be phenominal on this, but i realize i might be in the minority on this too.
what do you guys think?

Hopefully things will change. Although the customer service is generally excellent with TSM, it takes luck to catch them prior to an order and maybe get size in with their special make-ups.

If you had the choice between Ravello or Cigar LWB which would you choose?

If I still had my stable of calf shoes, then ravello. Although cigar is a great color, it is a shade of brown which calf can be used to supplement. Ravello is just a very unique color that is hard to come by.

I really want a pair of #8 LWB. Where's the best/cheapest place to order? The ones on Jcrew aren't shell right?

Also if I wear a size 8.5 Indy boot what size would I need considering the width of the Indy boot is just right for me.

Soylent, may I ask which shoe you purchased on the Leydon last? Boot or shoe? Calf, shell, or suede?

Thank you!
