Oh wow.. I didn't know that Kudu could look good. Can you share some more pics? Still considering what I should get for summer (it gets pretty wet) shoes.

I don't think that's true, but I suppose it's possible. All BB stores no longer stock shell cordovan shoes. I think they were making way for the new line of shoes (I believe made by AE). You can still get the Alden made for BB cordovan from the BB website.

How come no one has saddle shoes? Out of all the collection pics, I don't think I have seen one pair. I really want to pic up some Alden saddles. Considering these...anyone have them? Any other recs.

I was in the downtown Manhattan Brooks Brothers the other week and noticed that they didn't have any shell cordovan shoes in stock. I asked a salesperson about it and he said they were on a shell hiatus, but wasn't sure why or for how long. Yesterday I stopped into Alden on Madison and mentioned it to one of the guys. He said that BB was being punished for selling Shell at 25% off. Has anyone else heard about this? Are other Brooks Brothers still selling shell?

I was in a DC BB over the weekend, and they had Shell penny-loafers.

I was in J. Gilbert last week and Yenni said they are working on a saddle shoe...I remember it included a rarer shell (maybe No. 4). Wasn't paying much attention though as I'm not much for that style.

I love that style of shoe, but it's made on the Barrie last...

+1. In general, I really like the style for the broguing, the oxford lacing, and the brass eyelets. Don't even mind that they are on the Barrie.

I hope that the #8 and calf saddle that Leffot put together will get reordered. No word on that. Blackbird has some nice saddles on its site (visited either directly or via AoC), though only one size of each left. And the color and material combinations aren't quite for me. There's always the Alden program shell saddles, but they don't have the contrasting colors, which is key for me.

I did just try to generate some interest in a shell saddle MTO over in the Alden MTO thread, but there was only limited interest and little agreement on the style elements. I was originally going for something exotic like Cigar and navy shell, but I bet if we can put one together in #8 and suede or calf, we can get it done on something other than the Barrie and without having to wait for ever.
