Just out of curiosity: for those who have/had AEs, how did the fit compared to Aldens? I wore my pebble grain boots today on the Barrie last in size 8. I tried on the Park Ave and Strand in 8.5, and lengthwise they fit well. But the shoes were kind of narrow. The sales rep told me the last on the Park Ave and Strand were 'normal' and not narrow by design.

Also: besides adding a thicker insole and wearing thicker socks, is there anything else I can do to help make my suede Aldens on a Modified last fit better? I get shuffling at the heel. They fit quite bigger than my Barrie and Trubalance lasted shoes. I suspect the thin material of suede may be the culprit to give the shoes more space inside.

sales rep told you wrong. AE #5 last is narrow

"5 Last (65)
This is the longest in length of all of our lasts; best for a long, narrow foot."

I wouldn't be surprised. He was probably a standard Nordstrom salesman, not a shoe guru. He said they were the most popular sellers and I should jump on them. I told them I would need the approval of my internet friends first, haha. JK on the latter part.

Hi, I do not have that shoe but I have always liked it. What I do have it Leather Soul's Dark brown calf longwing and Cigar shell longwings.

If you plan on getting a Cigar longwing in the future then you may wish to pass on the calf. Same with the J Crew.....if you plan on getting Whiskey or Ravello shell then you may wish to send them back. I do love the cark brown calf....I just need to wear them more. :(
Also I have some questions. Does anyone have any opinions on Lady Calf:

VS Chromexcel:

Any pics of these with these with some miles:

I love the thought and think a red brick sole on a calf boot would look nice.
Also, Still loving these every time I see them:

Please tell me where those Chromexels are from?

If you're referring to the first pair of boots in the CXL list, they are Leathersoul's Ultimate Jumper Boot that came out this past February. Great looking boot.
