I'm leaning towards Tanker because I've got way too many brown boots but then again can't go wrong with another.. Help a brother out.

Tanker will look nicer longer. The Roy looks beat-up really quickly

+1

The roys do get beat-up looking fast. I have a pair and love them, but I wear them only with jeans and not to work. Also, the crepe soul on the roy gets kind of 'hairy' (little chunks hanging from the edges) which isn't the best for even a casual office setting. I may eventually replace these soles with a cleaner looking one.

Also, WSAYWT (what socks are you wearing today) thread. Loving the argyle!

Speaking of socks, what is the usual procedure for matching argyle socks to an outfit? Seems like at least one or two colors are always left out.

Oconnell's has aldens at 10% off. Limited sizes and selection, but they have the kudu indys and cigar shell chukkas, which I have not seen discounted anywhere before yet.

I don't have the Context Tankers, but I have the Leather Soul version in #8 and they've been my go to this fall. They can be worn in a casual office, but also look great with jeans. I love them.

I'm considering a pair of roys but frankly they remind me of Red Wing GTs and Wolverine 1000 mile a little too much. theres nothing special (looking) about them

The sole just in front of the heel is stamped with a capital R. Difficult if not impossible to hide or cover up.

Is it just me or did J. Crew take down all of their Alden stuff (probably has something to do with the 25% coupon they have for November)? They were there yesterday and now no more.

So earlier I posted those ranger mocs I recently received. Anyone know what I need to do to care for reverse chamois leather? Brushing would make sense, though it might disturb the natural development of the nap. Is there anything I could apply to help them deal with water, or should I just wear them and not worry?

Thanks for all the opinions guys. Will definitely be buying the Tanker boots when Context restocks.
