Rtp, you hadshared pics of your new black shell ptbs 9901. I would love to see how they have turned out with wear. If you could share pics of your black ptbs that would be wonderful.
Cheers my friend!

Because of the doubled up leather on Wingtip shoe design, do you find them warmer to wear than say a PTB or Cap Toe makeup. I know .. Silly question ... but I live in a very warm climate and wondered if anybody had a take on this. Would apply for boots as well. I thought the Indy stitching might be cooler overall as a boots go? 109 here today:)

Chipshot, I've noticed no difference in comfort temperature wise between my wingtips, ptb's, and my cap toes. Seeing as its 109 today where your at a pair of suede unlined Aldens sounds like a good option. I like your new moniker specific icon.

my sizing experiment with the barrie seems to be paying off. to recap - i purchased the unlined cxl ptb from Alden SF in 8.5C as the #8 version in 8D is too roomy in the heel. if you have relatively narrow heels, consider staying tts and going down a width in the barrie.

This is actually the "official" sizing advice as per Alden's sizing guidelines for its lasts.

Earlier this evening I had some difficulty deciding which "royal" shoe to wear on a casual date night out, so I took some pics... Medallion Cap Toe Bluchers (Alden for BB) Tassel mocs or Perf Cap Toe Boots (Alden for J Crew) I went with the tassels, which hadn't gotten much wear recently. Absolutely yes, my friend!

RTP - this is truly like picking between Halle Berry and Beyoncé. Can't go wrong either way. I think I would have went with the medallion cap toes, but there isn't a bad choice to be made. With these shows I'll go out on a limb and guess that the date went well. Thanks for posting some really amazing pic's.
Thank you my friend. With my wife, it's always a great date. The medallions are great, but wanted to get some wear with my tassels. Much appreciated...

I do not understand the concept of wearing dress shoes -- and medallion toe bluchers, the tassel loafer are pure dress shoes -- with blue jeans.  Those are all beautiful shoes RTP has, and he obviously has taken tremendous care of them.  But wearing those with jeans looks like someone stole one's casual shoes.  Or like one is traveling and only took dress shoes on the trip.

I suppose since we don't have to that great coward and sympathiser the Duke of Windsor to lay down the sartorial law any longer we can all do what we want.  And perhaps this is an inconsistency that I don't think the boots are too dressy although from ankle down they look pretty close to the medallion captoes.

In any event, the shoes are all impeccable and made me go grab my brush and work on my color 8s and black cordovan for the upcoming week -- while taking my son for dessert wearing white jeans and tan suede indys with red brick soles!

My fellow Alden enthusiast, I certainly understand your perspective. I have asserted in the past on this thread that tassels are dressy enough to wear with suits and have been met with quite a bit of flack from those that say that tassels are inherently casual. Furthermore, I have also suggested that bluchers can also be worn with suits despite the conventional/traditional view that bluchers should not be used in that manner. In the end I've come to the conclusion that not everyone can be pleased and that attire is simply an individual's means of expression within the confines of an evolving business and professional world. I suppose as long as I'm not too far out there to where people may think I stole someone's dress shoes, I should be ok.

I appreciate the comments and the compliments. Good day good friend!

I don't think the double leather sole makes a shoe hotter/sweatier(??). If you're in poor physical shape and the slightly heavier shoes are wearing you down

, then maybe a lighter single leather sole is for you. I prefer the double leather sole for its support and comfort, even on a 100' day. I'm guessing you're inside in the AC anyways.
