hey there... thanks... i was hoping for leffot to do a reorder..my friend is interested in that shoes so was just helping him out to ask where to get them...
:)

Email Steven or Colin and I'm sure they can give you an idea if they are planning to re-order since I think they already have some idea of what might be coming in. Good luck since the natural CXL leather is awesome!

Ok, I'm thinking about breaking my vow and ordering my first pair of cordovan shoes - I like the color ravello, cigar, whiskey and #8 - and I can get which ever one I like in the plain toe blucher(which is my choice). Now I mostly wear jeans and Bill's khakis and these shoes will get a lot of wear - any suggestions on the color this cordovan virgin should buy?

Thanks, seer

if you can get the ravello with light edge trim, then that's the one to get. the lighter edge trim is a must for me. i like ravello, cigar, whiskey in that order. whiskey looks great in pictures, but is a bit too light to be worn all the time.

Both pairs are SPECTACULAR!! Are they recently acquired?
Thanks! I purchased the saddle in early summer & the CXL in late summer. LS has great Alden makeups, keeping rocking it Tom & the LS staff.

Some artistic manque photos of my #8 PTBs, since the color seems to be current in this discussion. I'm trying to highlight what I see as the very pleasing, to me, variations in color that these are developing.

Loved the look of Aldens for a long time, but Ive got such a weird foot Ive been hesitant to order any online. Got a voucher to order my first pair for Christmas and went to get fitted for some yesterday. They are ordering me an 8E in the 403 Indy. Guy said it could be a week or 48 weeks before they got here depending on if they were in stock or they had to make them. Anybody here got a better answer from experience? Or will I maybe be getting them in December 2012? Hah

Just an interesting followup on this... I got a call today from the shop I ordered from. Said my boots were in the store! They told me when I ordered them that the Alden workshop was closed until after the New Year ("after they sober up" according to the sales guy) and they wouldn't even be able to order them until that time. I asked how they got them so fast and the sales guy said "It's all about who you know and who you can get a fifth of liquor to." Haha. I didn't ask anymore questions after that. Hopefully they'll fit!

IMHO I think Cigar would work really well for your purposes - wearing them mostly with jeans and khakis.

Just to make this more difficult for you, Seer, the whiskey shoes have been a little darker lately. I posted a pic of my new whiskey indys a few days back. I hate the lighter shade of whiskey as it can look plasticy. If you find a less red ravello, that should be the best overall color. Cigar is nice, but it won't pop the same Asa lighter brown.

That said, color 8 is still my favorite. I think you should pop your cherry with some #8. Idk what they have in stock, but the Alden store on Madison has a #8 wing tip boot on a double leather sole. If I didn't already have a ptb and longwing in #8, I'd be all over it. Boots over shoes any day.

Teehee, Alden has been open and is actually open today as well... Also I highly doubt the gals in the order department need to sober up after New Years. That sales guy is hilarious! :D

Just walked out of the Alden Madison store after purchasing my new #8 shell plain toe bluchers. Thanks for the advice brethren!
