Back to positive. Broke 2 barriers today. My first pair of Selvedge (nothing special, Gap) and the first time I've worn shell wingtips with denim. Hopefully the denim will soften up over time but I definitely felt comfortable with the longwings
All that's left is to wear boots in warm weather. I love the look, but still a little apprehensive.
This looks great. Have to try it soon, question for warm-weather boot wearers. Anyone goe with commando soles or is warm weather wear limited to double leather?
I'm no denimhead but Gap was my first selvedge and I've been very pleased. Don't be afraid to wash them. I try to go as long as I can between washes but don't hesitate to turn them inside out and wash. Hang dry.
As far as boots in warm weather I say do whatever is comfortable. Don't worry about sole type. I don't wear my boots in the summer but it's just because my feet would get way too hot. I think the value in commando is that it performs better than leather in inclement weather (debatable) so maybe it is better suited to inclement weather. I say just give it a try and go with what feels right.
