Yikes, that was harsh. Just thought this thread was about shoes. I apologize if I offended anyone. Bruce Jenner is a brave hero of LGBT.

Anyways, it appears they are closer to fitting correctly but they are still a little tight. I imagine the sides will loosen some with wear, and that the pair may have already had some wear!

I opened the box and the shoes have bad leather creasing on the sides and front, and appear to have been worn. There are also small marks on the soles. I'm going to call TSM and go from there. I'm a little floored right now though. I also know this is the only pair of their NXT's they have in this size. Here is a phone pic of just a little of the issue.

EDIT: I called TSM and explained the shoes to them, how they look worn etc, and they verified this was a special order and this is the last of the size. The said they couldn't discount me but if I returned them they would refund me in full. I'm bummed.
I'd say just return them. I've received Alden's that look exactly like those before and returned them. Will they eventually crease up like that? Possibly. I've had boots from different brands that didn't crease to that extent after years and years of wear. At the price that we are paying for these, they shouldn't come like that! sucks that's its the last size but not worth keeping imo.

First-World Problem Saturday: I picked up some natty CXL Indy's at SF Alden yesterday, but now I'm on the fence a bit about them. I think they look amazing now - new. A beautiful golden color, but I don't really want to baby an Indy boot and I am wondering what they are going to look like down the road. I've done some google searches trying to find a well used natty CXL boot with limited success. I already own a 403, so if they are going to significantly darken, then that would be something I would be less enthusiastic about. I know a lot of this has to do with whether or not I put anything on them (eventually probably just Saphir greasy for CXL), and how I wear them.  Point being, I haven't worn them yet, and could always go back today to exchange for a different leather….

What do you think gentlemen? Keep them or exchange them? I keep my 403's well brushed and shiny for nice, casual wear, so a part of me wants a pair I can be less careful with….maybe even a 405.

Jason I feel the same way. I've purchased other high end shoes and none of them have looked like this pair. Even the last pair of Alden's were a night and day difference compared to these which were obviously worn a little. More than a test fitting in sure.

Thanks everyone for the responses and opinions. I'm still riding the fence on what to do, but am leaning on sending them back.

@Carson I have a pair of natty cxl Innsbruck from epaulet on order, and I have a pair of 403s that I baby as well. For me, there's enough color variation between the two, as well as different soles, brass, etc. But even if the natty cxl darkens, I don't think it'll be as deep as the 403.

On another note, I received my 4060s back from AOM that had to be refinished cause some of the original finish was flaking. Happy to say they came back perfect! So today is the re-maiden voyage of these wonderful boots. Curtis at AOM was awesome about taking care of this really quickly and easily.

I'm really surprised at the condition that TSM sent those shoes to you. If those in fact were previously worn, im surprised since TSM has such a strict return policy. How does the toe box Look?

Alden SF has natty Indy boots in stock right now - just got one yesterday. Give them a call - they might have your size…all the ones I saw looked flawless

Toe box also is creased. More so on one than the other, but they are worn for sure. I'm glad I took video of the unboxing to cover my arse.

Funny I just spoke to them about some Tankers a few days ago. I will call them again. Thanks for the heads up.

Like others have said, I think a lot depends on what piece of leather you get.  It can vary within the same pair of shoes, like my Indys.  One shows virtually no creasing, while the other was wrinkles as soon as I looked at it.  (Despite their current state, I do scrub dirt and mud off these, but other than that, no care yet.)

Hahaha. My thoughts exactly. I'll have to take his word that it's like that.
