For reference, I tried on a pair of the TSM 4060 4 months ago when I swung by the shop. I only recently could budget the 4060 and I got them from Madison. They are identical boots. So while this is not an apples to apples comparison, the only difference is the color of dye. I could not see any reason that the black should be any different.

Someone with far more Alden knowledge may chime in and tell us otherwise but I'd venture to say they are the same boot.

Oh yeah, almost forgot to mention, buy them! You will not be disappointed.

Your experience is really helpful to me, i really appreciate your help.

Now i have the 4065 and 4070 colour 8 version in my collection. And the naval boot will be arrive after 6months:)

I have to admit that i am addict to cap toe rather than other make up.

Absolutely love the boots but TBH not a big fan of the tan laces.  Looks like somebody crossed an awesome boot with a mocha Frappuccino.  If that sours you on the boots, let me know and I will PM you the address of my nearest Starbucks for return.

Prefer your pics to Mikes. You didn't cross the line of too much man sock. Well done.

Not the look we are going for.   Thank you to everyone for the feedback.  Some people like them and some don't and I get that.  Even retailers get tired of seeing the same models over and over.  We do want to try and have something for everyone.

i shop a lot online .

apart from Fransboone in the Netherlands who is the best, there are Trunk clothiers, Endclothing, Kafka, Bureau Belfast all in the UK, Sir Max and Shoes & Shirts in the Netherlands, Nitty Gritty Store in Sweden, Skomaker Dagestad in Norway, and of course Anatomica in Paris for Modified last only.

A good friend of mine would put a "yes" in the check boxes for both questions. In addition, he has a 4 year old daughter. One night of dancing to Frozen with her in the living room and he now has something else, a ruined floor.
Metal toes aren't bad, in fact I find them to be pretty damn cool, but I think you need to be conscious of the soles afterwards.
Just my friendly anecdotal advice.

Dancing certainly won't be an issue for me but we do have a couple of rooms with exposed wood floors so that is something to consider. Appreciate the input BenLeaman. Thanks.

Would love some help. I know lost&found is one place but they're sold out!

The 975 you could order online from J.Crew - but anything else as previously mentioned it's slim pickings in the six.

I greatly prefer the brown flat waxed laces on the choco tanker. Makes for a classier looking boot IMO. There is enough contrast with the toe stitching and the sole edge.

I own them - one of my favorite boots. I wear them more often for dressy occasions but they can be worn casually as well
