Has anyone used the Saphir Suede and Nubuck spray? Saphir claims this will "recolor" the shoe.

The issue with my brown suede shoes is they've become lighter over the years. I'm hoping to restore to the dark brown as they were.

Cheers

yes, they will "recolor" as they contain color pigments.

Make sure you match the color you desire as closely as possible.

whats the purpose of the notches in the sweater hangers? how does that work to prevent dimples?

The only sweater hanger that has notches are from our Runway Collection for women. The notches are there for added versatility.

Our Men's Luxury Sweater Hanger does not have notches...

The felting on the shoulders is there to help better control the garment and prevent it from sliding down the hanger.

Met with Kirby yesterday and picked up my order of shoe care supplies. Very cool guy and I can't wait to see how my shoes look after I've given them the Saphir treatment.

Curious on the clamping hanger - do you hang from the trouser end long ways or do you fold and hang?

The clamping trouser hanger is designed to hang garments at the cuff, vertically upside-down. The weight of the trouser seat gently "pulls" wrinkles out. I use the Clamping Trouser Hanger for most of my trousers, but definitely all of my linen ones.

Introducing Shoe Shine Sundays from The Hanger Project

Come join The Hanger Project for Shoe Shine Sundays! I will be virtually hosting this shoe shine event every Sunday! Upload a photograph of yourself shining a pair of shoes to The Hanger Project Affiliate Thread or to our Facebook Page and receive a special promotional offer good towards your next purchase!

I will also be online available to answer questions about how to deliver the best shoe shine results with our Saphir Shoe Polish.

Shoe Shine Sunday! I'll be polishing a pair of my light brown Alfred Sargent Monk Strap shoes -- perfect for a casual Sunday. These have a little water spotting, but that's about it. So, I am going to use a single coat of Saphir Renovateur and Saphir Cream Polish.
700

Here I am applying the Saphir Renovateur. This is a gentle cleaner and conditioner. It will pull off any light surface staining and dirt. Anything grittier should require the attention of the Saphir Leather Cleaning Soap. However, these shoes are in pretty good condition, as to not require this.

After I buff of the single coat of the Saphir Renovateur, I apply a coat of Saphir Cream Polish in light brown. The pigment of a cream polish helps even the finish while repairing any scuffs. The wax content of both the Renovateur and Saphir Pommadier Cream Polish combine to create a nice protective barrier and soft shine. If I wanted something higher-gloss, I would follow this with a coat of the Saphir Wax Polish in either a neutral or matching brown.

And here we go. 20 minutes later my shoes are looking dignified.

I just happened to shine a pair of my GG's but didnt take any before pictures, just final product:

663440

I first brushed the shoes.
Applied Saphir Reno
Applied 1 layer of Mahogany
Applied 1 layer of Navy
Applied 1 layers of Navy wax
Re-applied 1 layer of Navy wax to the toe and heel counter
Applied Navy wax as a sole dressing
Buffed out with my Saphir Buffing Glove

The end. I wanted to give the toe a little character but not overwhelm it. It doesnt appear much different in the crappy iphone picture but in real life there is a subtle difference between the toe area and the rest of the shoe.

Edit:

Here is another picture that might be better at showing the toe:

I hit them with another coat of navy wax on the toes and the shine started to get stronger. Maybe one more coat before I go to work and they will be shiny shiny

I REALLY enjoy using Navy Wax Polish on black shoes. I use Black Wax on the entire shoe and then the Navy Wax on the toe box. Adds a nice "midnight blue" touch. Only noticeable in direct sunlight, and even then it only glimmers...

It's not Sunday, but I thought I'd post anyway. Went on an interview today and I got drizzled on whilst walking back to the car at the end of the day. Shoes looked bloody awful, so a shine was in order. I did the Saphir Renovateur thing about a month ago, so right now just going with Saphir black shoe creme, chamois and horsehair brush.

Edward Green Westminster double monk (888 last)

Prep:

Forgot to take "Before" pictures, but here's the finished product:
