I recently pulled out some old pair of jeans that I used to wear and they had a fade line across the knee where it sat on the clothes hangers

Whats the correct way of storing them when not in use to avoid unwanted fading like I just described. Im sure folding too may give this unwanted fade lines

Can't think of the exact thread, but as part of a "washing your denim" thread there was a section on storing them as well. I know one method was to hang from hangers that have pants clips on them (hang from top, not pants legs). I do that for some, and use the tri-fold stack method for others.

I hang them by a wooden hanger, but I slide the ends of the hanger into the beltloops. Doesn't work for every pair if the loops are too far apart or too close together.

Yes. Thanks, that was the other preferred method listed, but couldn't think of it.

Cross posting from another thread because this has to be the best way ever.

It doesn't take that much space in a closet.

Yup I use the clasp-hanger method as well. Takes up very little closet space, and keeps them cleaner than tossing them on my floor that is cleaned... infrequently.

tri-fold stack?...what is that?...could it be the slightly ocd-ish method of folding that i thought i had invented???
