Does the budget include food and entertainment? Or just hotel/flight?

$1000 for two, including airfare, hotel and food, for 3-4 nights?

Florida may be $300 plane ticket per person round trip.
You can stay at Motel 6 and eat McDonald type fast food.
This should be about $1K.

well that was really the flight/hotel budget

i was looking at maybe a possible orlando vacation
flights from EWR to orlando are $189 a person round trip
which leaves me for a hotel around $150-200 a night

since it's your gf i imagine you're <30. maybe not your style at that age but i imagine you could easily get a nice 3-4 day vacation for <$1000 somewhere along the Carolina coast. i'd probably start with the Myrtle Beach area.

Maine? You could get tickets to Boston for $200 each, rent a car and drive to Portland, maybe a little beyond.

Let's look at this logically though:

Cheap flights: $200 x 2 = $400
Really cheap hotel: $100 *3-4 = $300-$400

That leaves $50-$100 for food and entertainment each day total. There is a really big difference between $50 and $100 for two people, especially when it comes to food quality, so I would recommend the three nights instead of four.

As you can see, getting a hotel for $200 a night would not really be possible for a $1000.

Good luck.
