I'm hesitant... I need something similar to APC Rescues since I have large thighs...

Nudie Big Bengt or Sugar Cane Union Star or LVC 1933 or PBJ XX-009 or PBJ XX-003 or Samurai S5000VX or SDA SD-101 or ... ?

Which should I automatically discard? Which should I look more into?

Another APC question. I'm pretty sure that I'm going with the Rescues. I might get the NS but I'll have to see how the taper looks with my boots.

My question is about hemming. I don't think you can get APC with a 32" leg. I have really short legs and I'm going to need about 3" taken off the legs. Is this going to affect the way the jeans will fit? I know with washed jeans, the markings end up in weird locations. I'm guessing I won't have that problem with raw denim.

Comments?

It would just make the taper not as tapered.. heh. For a straight leg it shouldn't have any effect. For a tapered leg the leg opening will be larger than if it wasn't hemmed.

I'm surprised dude didn't suggest some sized-up Crates...

Just how far sized down LDB are we talking? If CP4 here is looking for a fit nearly identical to BDG, SSDS sized down one would be it.

As much as I'm here to celebrate Crate's love there just isn't a cut similar to what he wants. The Hamilton and Journal are slightly fuller than the BDG.

The rise is a bit longer, as is the hem and thigh. It's more of a traditional/repro cut while the Journal is somewhat of a hybrid because of the low rise yet regular fit.

I'm talking LDB raw sz. 30 that were hot soaked and have since stretched out to about a 17" waist measurement. These are pretty snug through the thigh for LDBs I think. I was a 32 in the BDGs and they fit fine, maybe stretched a tad in the waist.

To be honest, I'm not really crazy about Nudies because of the stitching. What else ya got? OMG Chris Paul!!!!!!11!!!!!1!!!1111

^ Rag & Bone RB11 / Earnest Sewn Fulton, both in 32.

Or Samurai 5000vx, Wings & Horns straight leg, if you have a taste for the more elusive denim...

Or even the rb15s even though I'm not crazy about a good chunk of the denim rag&bone uses these days. I really miss the old non-streaky greycast stuff they used to have.

Jean Shop would be a pretty cool choice if you're looking for something that's up on the quality scale. I'm thinking more along the Rocker cut since you want something a little looser than the BDG or the Skinny if you're looking for something closer to the BDG fit. Skinny isn't really that skinny as you have to size down one or two. I don't have measurements for either but Mauro would, I'm just going based one what I've tried on in the past.

Or the obvious RRL slim cut. I'd get behind those or the Jean Shops real quick.

You could try checking out a Barney's near you for the Crate's and see what you think about the fit. They're not what I would think of for a bdg copy but you might find that they suit you anyway. And then you could call up SS and get 25% off those puppies.

You must be thinking about the RRL slim straight cut. RRL Slim is much slimmer than BDG in the thigh, and the cut resembles PRPS Tight Fit.

Also, I was thinking that despite my not being near an APC store, it might be good to try on some jeans with similar fits. I'm a bike ride away from Levi's, Urban Outfitters, and American Apparel, and could try on anything at those places. Are there any jeans that might let me get a good idea of the way an APC NS, NC, or Petit Standard might fit me and how much I would size down on each?

Thanks much.
