Are those Regent Streets? Looking good.
The value proposition starts to become obvious after 15 years when they're still going strong.

Plus, purrrrrty, shiny!

But calf easily lasts 15+ years, too...

A well made calf shoe, that is well cared for and part of a wide rotation, can easily last decades. These were made in 1969.

I actually believe you can wear brown grain and suits. And I am typically more a traditionalist. I have the Players 2.0 in brown grain and wear with suits.

Edward Green and the British guys do a lot of brown grain. I am a big fan.

This is true. Eventually I may spring for the brown grain, but t feel like I scratched the LWB itch with these.

Also, part of the reason I had liked the brown grain was because of the Dainitie sole- I didn't realize the dark chili came on a double butyl sole, so I'm not concerned about durability with that.

Also, the decision was helped along by the discovery that there were only 5 pairs of the dark chili left in my size in the system, vs I guess a bunch of pairs of the brown grain.

Soooo... the wife wore her new boots for the first time and it looks like she dropped a pen across them at work. ANY idea on if this can be reversed at home? Some places online are recommending hairspray, but I'm not sure if I trust that.

Oof... Hairspray? What would that do? Would you use it to lift the ink off the leather?

My gut feel says to use water first and if it doesn't come out, leather cleaner followed by some conditioner and a bit of polish.

Actually, I would prefer the light brown cashmere of the vintage Florsheims over the dark brown grain of the MacNeil.

Denim shirt with some Daltons for Friday. Pair from last night were McGregors in the only red color that matters. (Joking of course. I've seen chili and dark chili on here looking phenomenal, I'm just justifying all the blood I have.)

Bean Boots to combat the lake effect snow.

Madison Parks, ribbed wool sweater, and denim on this cold casual Friday.

I know, I know, my sock game is pretty weak. I've seen some cool socks but often the "one size fits all" puts the heal turn of the sock at ankle height for me. Anyone have any recommendations for something more fun that has size options or that wont be too large my size 8 feet?

I'm the same way. If I put the sock on "normal" the heel part is way too high. So the trick is not to tug the sock up the entire way. Line the heel up and then kind of pinch the fabric and slide it up? Horrible explanation, maybe I'll do a YouTube tutorial...

Stunning! The Natural shell pair wasn't enough, you had to get Navy shell too huh? :p

Hahah well I had these on order already but yes! If the natty ones weren't available from the bank though it wasn't a makeup I'd have made. I have some budapesters coming in whisky shell that might overlap a little bit. I've been eyeing the mahogany shell wholecut from enzo that skoak has. Aside from the black formal shoe which a black wholecut covers along with my hopkinsons I don't see myself buying any other calf for a while. I really like the way shell cleans up and its resiliency. Just brushing it fixes so much.
