My feeling is: if they took the time and money to recraft them, they probably have some knowledge about shoes and shoe care beyond the typical squared toed Stacy Adams wearing schmuck; i.e. they've probably been taken care of decently.

I know you didn't ask me, but if the price is right, the answer is "no"

Thanks. He actually accepted. Got some Bourbon Strands for $50 shipped. I know I told myself I wouldn't buy anymore shoes, but I had to buy those, right? Now I just gotta make sure to bring them in the house when the wife isn't home.

I'm pretty thankful that I don't like the looks of myself in loafers, monk straps or boat shoes because that could take this shoe problem of mine to a whole new level.
I didn't either...now I have 4 loafers, 1 single and 1 double monk, and 5 boat shoes, so there's that.

I have sold a few pairs on eBay. I actually bought a few pairs on eBay that were seriously underpriced, polished them, and sold them for a good profit.
Doing that gave me a lot of leeway. Now if she sees a new pair, she doesn't know if it's coming or going.
Or staying. Usually they are staying.

Ditto. I've been hearing the word "excessive" a LOT in relation to my shoes ever since my collection was half the size it is today... and it's extremely modest by the standards set here.

You don't have any loafers or boat shoes... so you can either get a loafer and a Maritime or a Kirkwood to fill both needs, but you probably need a Kirkwood and a Maritime.

Same here. I officially have more shoes than my wife. She's a bit disgusted by that lol.

The dark chili really looks stunning on the MacNeil.

I was able to stay out of the fray during the last seconds sale, but today, the proverbial dam sprung a leak. A pair of BB MacNeils in chili grain and a pair of oxblood Warwicks are en route to me.

As @SLCRich says, oxblood is always the right answer.

I could resist the chili MacNeil but the BB chili grain if that was made in E I'd be all over it. The Cornwallis in chili is also fantastic.

Lobster you should hold out to see if you like the C&J. I'm currently deciding if I want to order some whole cuts for sizing from c&j, carmina, and bonafe. Looking for black and probably some sort of brown.
