New Suits: MtM ZEGNA "SU MISURA"?

I am looking for a couple of "workhorse" navy/charcoal/mid-grey business suits and want a robust 9-11oz, 110's count wool (good for travel/wrinkles) + a nice Italian cut...

My suits are for doing business in, not making a fashion statement so I prefer to stay away from skinny/fat lapels, fancy buttons & shiny cloths. I want a clean, sharp silhouette without too beefy of a shoulder. I have broad shoulders and an RTW 46L Zegna fits spot-on... except I want help choosing the right fabrics.

Has any one used Zegna's MTM "Su Misura" service? Any reviews?

Is there a particular shop/person I should look to work with? I can visit any where from D.C. to Boston out to Houston & SanFran. I want to ensure I'm working with the right person, not some pimply faced high school kid.

Open to thoughts/ideas... please let me know if you have any insights or other suggestions...

I've found a few SU Misura orphans in thrifts that I've flipped on ebay.

Amazing quality, with wool that drapes beautifully and is so light to the touch whilst keeping the rigidity of what you need it for.

I'd say go for it and treat yourself.

Well, Su Misura is Made to Measure, so you can get them made however you want. The question here is, do you like Zegna? IMO, it's hard to choose between the different brands when it comes to this level. They all offer good material, construction, handwork, etc.

A few weeks ago I was at Barneys in NYC trying on sportscoats & loved the fit/look of a Zegna 46L jacket. Problem was that I wasn't too fond of the fabric/pattern...

I want to work with a Zegna "personal shopper"/ or concierge of sorts to get the right cloths, have solid measurements taken & be able to trust/rely of their 'stylistic aptitude'.

I personally think one of the best reasons to work with a haberdasher/trunk show visit/U.K. tailor is they'll generally guide you to making the right choices in fabrics, patterns & fit. Assuming you play your role in asking the right questions & steering the process to achieve your desired goals.

Other than just walking into a Zegna store closest to me, there has to be a better option?

How can I get personalized service in this process? Thoughts?

Are there other MTM brands/ visiting tailors from Italy that have a similar cut/fashion profile to Zegna that are worth considering?

Several U.K. tailors visit the US regularity - Steed, Thomas Mohan, Cad & the Dandy - but what are some of the Italian equivalents for non-bespoke suitings???

Why not go bespoke from a proper tailor? I'd imagine there are tailors in Houston or Boston. I know William field in DC is very good & well regarded on the forum - I take alterations to him & am always happy with that work. I'd imagine Zegna mtm is good but at that price why not go bespoke. Alternatively if you are insistent on the mtm options Wilkes bashford in sf has mtm options (I believe they have Kiton, zegna, brioni etc.)

Thanks Jonathan - I hadn't heard of WBashford & - yes - William Fields is a great option...

But think Italian, Italian styling... what tailors are in the US or visit the US than can do that cut???

Ideas?

Perhaps call William field and ask him - he's very capable. I believe Chris despos offers a more Italian style of cut. But he's located in Dallas / Chicago. There's also a tailor in Los Angeles that does a very Italian style bespoke (look him up on the forum - I forget the name). But for that question search the forums.

Manolo Costa is a name that pops up... any recent reviews of suits or sports jackets done by him?
