Quick question as I really haven't had to deal with this before but what's a good way to clean stuff off of shoes without damaging them?

Is it suede?

Nah, it's a pair of Alden 974 shell shortwings. I picked these up today and clearly I wasn't going to leave them. Just have some stuffs on them.

@SpooPoker
I know you have a thing about signs.   What is it again?  I am going to an area that has apparently NOT been thrifted much by anyone on here, so I am wondering what I will find.

I'm going to the DEEP SOUTH and there is definitely old money on the Coast.  So, I'm probably not going to find Cuccinelli or Kiton, but I would guess I will find LOTS of vineyard vines, a lot of Trad type stuff and other OLD Money stuff.  I'm hoping to be swimming in Shell Cordovan and Oxxford (fingers crossed).

I just love signs. I don't know why but I do. One of those things. The older and more random the better. My garage is full of them, Id post a pic but its currently a mess and would likely be until Spring.

Polo is available.

I don't know why I missed a Been Had joke in my post!

The Thrifting tm
Not quite, but I'll take it. :)
Sorry about this, but another question for @Nataku Found this this morning. It's dated 1955. There's a broken button but it's otherwise in really nice shape. Is it a thing? Did not purchase it.
Sorry man, can't help ya there. I've never seen one like that. Guessing it's foreign (which I'm pretty much lost on).

Wanted to give both @Ace_Face and @Koala-T a big shoutout for the great deal on the LP sweater and LBM sportcoat, respectively. Big thanks to both of you!

Put a TON of ties on the thrift buy/sell/trade thread - moving out all ties that I don't wear. Purging some ~70 ties!

Couple of finds, nothing too exciting:

AE Leyland

Peter Millar

Altea - bold lime green

Oxxford Trench - two small problem spots I missed at the store - apologies for the horrendous photos, can't seem to get a good picture of anything that's black/deep navy, ever...

Those are in need of a trip to @capnwes Cuz those are hurting. Saphiir and Alden 8 polish wax is what I use, I also use a dabble of really high quality saddle soap for high end leather shoes, however any site you look up will tell you to never do this with cordovan so I'm not suggesting it, just been working for me for like 6 or 7 years now

Haha yeah I got you. I just wasn't gonna leave em behind for what I paid. I thought about PM'ing him to see if he still did all that.

Good to know! I'm still fairly new so I appreciate the tips. I've been casually thrifting clothes for a few years only but I still struggle with what's worth picking up and what's not. Being on the college/recent grad budget makes it tougher to just go for it. But I love seeing the stuff you guys find and it always gives me the itch. Anyway, I'm here to learn and learn I did! I may try and go back for it. It's a neat piece even if not extremely sought after.
