Well compared to last several posts, I have garbage, but considering my luck lately, I'll take it.

Pal Zileri
I was unfamiliar with this maker and didn't have my phone, but the fabric was great and it was fully canvassed so I grabbed it. From what I can tell online, it's a small step below Canali in terms if quality/desirability?
This is actually an orphan, so I'm hunting for pants in the AM.

Zegna suit. Great condition, pockets still basted shut and the Zegna pouch with silk thread and spare buttons in the breast pocket. This material is crazy light and smooth (I'd guess 130s or 150s), but I can't tell. Can anyone glean anything from the tag?

Lastly, what is Baroni? There was a 3rd sport coat from this donor that had a good pattern, and was made of super 150s. However, it was made in China. Any thoughts? I didn't check for canvas, but can tomorrow.

Damn, how does something like this end up at a goodwill?

Dayum... that's definitely legit, and worth some serious $$$$. Sick find... Same tags as the scarf I found, however mine is not as wide as that.

I've seen a few of these too...they honestly don't look too bad but there's no resale and I doubt they're that good for personal use either.

Anybody have any recommendations on men's consignment stores in the Lakeview area (Chicago)?  I'll be in the neighborhood this Sunday to pick up a suit, and other than Elliott's Consigment, there doesn't seem like there are many options but wanted to double check with you guys in case I missed a place.

Thanks!

No.

I finally did it. It only took me 3 years. But I officially found my AE size. It's 8.5 B if anyone needs my address. Now I just start coordinating with black suede. Felt pretty good about them for $35 either way. Also, check out my new (to me) hardwood floor.

I can wear anywhere from a 9 to an 11 in AE depending on the model. Some of the most inconsistent sizing out there.

******* new guy with the Huntsman. ******* giant cuna scarf. :worship2: :slayer: :worship:

Holy ****.
I always wonder how many people pick up kiton, vicuna scarves, etc and not have the slightest clue.

not just cm, but sw&d and vintage too. no telling how much stuff escapes the dragnet of collectors, flippers, and sophisticates.

I'm surprised that Jompso and others don't have the thrift scene there on tighter lockdown.

Jompso is a badass for sure, but this just goes to show what a goldmine LA can be. Jompso thrifts hard, and there's still plenty left over for the likes of Darkmatter and many others we don't even know about to live off of, literally. I don't care how hard you thrift, there's no way you could keep a city that large on lockdown.

Also, I've gotten some great stuff from some of you lately. Thanks very much! You know who you are.

Lastly, I just wanted to shout out @Thrift Vader . Tried his upholstery cleaner stain remover method, and that **** worked like a charm. I'd just add that you might need to wash the fabric out with water on lighter fabrics to keep from leaving a "water mark". Took ink out of a Taupe Corneliani sport coat like a charm.

I'd say no, my fave is this one:

But a lot of people prefer a safety razor.
Use a lot, broke once and I opened it up and resoldered a wire that had come loose.  The breaking was probably from abuse, it lives on the end of my work bench and falls off occasionally.

The Gleaner. Amazon. A few folks here have it, myself included.

Thanks guys, I'll give a safety razor and the gleener a try before any electronics.

Ah....Will take title of Baroni go to person....Baroni actually makes a decent suit with Super 150s wool. My Baroni suit is in great shape after three years. The purchase is what got me into thrifting. Purchased at a going out of business sale in town for a bargain at $450 for a wedding. After spending another similar sum on some new Ferragamos, I thought ...self ...there has to be a better way...and then discovered that place and then you guys!

Baroni....the salesman suggested that I NOT dry clean the suit! The fabric is subject to destruction apparently. It's a little boxy but then again I like Oxxford too. Would purchase again, for a lot less....

So this was already my best week ever with the kiton find but today this happened:

1000

For now this is na while I figure out what to do with it. May be a present for ms. Woofa but we will have to see. Anyone have experience with this? Big for a scarf, but not a cape.

Now if I can pop a cuccineli cashmere my grail trifecta will be complete.

Damn, how does something like this end up at a goodwill?

What I see:
"Brownish"

What SPOO sees:
"quadruple reptilian ouroboros floral branch paisleyesque"

Why I send all my stuff to SPOO to sell.
