Official 2014 College Football Season Thread

Agree that it's tough to find a true #1. I think that there is always going to be some controversy in college football with respect to playoff selection, no matter how it is done. That said, the larger the playoff, the less teams can legitimately complain. So 4 is better than 2. 8 would be better than 4, but I am pretty okay with just a top 4 for now.

They shoulda just kept the BCS and used top 4 from that.

I wonder which conference will get left out and have a meltdown...or possibly 2 conferences if they let Rudy in for the ratings.

Yeah. I think they did a pretty good job. Really excited to watch Ole Miss vs. Auburn this weekend. Loser is probably out of the playoff barring a lot of 2 loss teams being around come December.

2) I'm not really rooting for Florida. I do want them to be a good team again (would make FSU rivalry fun) and I like chaos. Honestly, I would prefer UGA to win.

Louisville-FSU is shaping up to be a great game.

There comes a point where FSU's ability to keep winning becomes impressive, even if it is against lesser opponents.

That said, they only started to come back when I checked my phone and went up by four as soon as I was able to watch. So, basically, you're welcome FSU.

I'm so nervous about the game today. It sets up like one of those Cocktail Parties where the lesser team completely spoils the favored team's season. This rivalry is littered with that on both sides, and I hope this isn't another installment.

Florida is playing with a de facto lame duck coach during possibly its worst season in my lifetime with a freshman quarterback making his first-ever start, and I'm still worried they'll upset a far superior Georgia team that's on a roll and playing for a shot at the NC. This is seriously what makes college football awesome.

I agree 100%. I have a feeling I'll be a lot less nervous after the first quarter. But for now, I am still pretty nervous.
