Everyone has been trying to tell noodles forever to just stick with Formosa...

Why is this taking so long to set in?

Hopefully because it isn't very good advice (at this point).

Formosa looks better on Noodles than most anything else he's tried. But that's the issue: he hasn't tried much. And while Formosa fits and flatters Murl 10/10, it's maybe 7-8/10 for Noodles.

He should continue getting Formosas. Even if/when he finds something which suits him better, he should continue getting them.

But he's had Formosa tunnel vision for a while. There are other things out there.

And if he tries a 6-7 more brands, actually buys 2-3 of them, and still wants to only buy Formosa...then he should by all means. But there are many, many brands out there that Noodles should explore before settling on The One (if he wants to be monogamous). Eidos, Ring, Caruso, BnT, Kent Wang, and even Suit Supply, just to name a few.

@kulata has recommended a few others that he thinks will flatter his frame.

Thanks, but it's the trousers that are fresco. Jacket is wool/mohair, shirt is cotton/linen, and tie is cotton.

I see. Well, then, great Fresco-like texture on the jacket. Hopsack, then?

Yessir, from Artison.

Clags, I wish the fit was 10/10 for me but sadly, that's not the case.

who's in charge of the weekly contest?
Last week's winner, @chocsosa , and I believe it's been decided that a non-suit all solids fit is the contest.

There is more at play than fit. You could have a perfectly fitting Steed, a perfectly fitting Formosa, a perfectly fitting Huntsman, and a perfectly fitting Isaia. And they won't all look equally good on you.

I'd rather have a cut/style that flatters me and fits me decently than something which fits perfectly but doesn't flatter my build/proportions/whathaveyou.

Agree. You said "fits and flatters" so I was just clarifying that the fit isn't perfect.

I hate ticket pockets.

I may never get used to the strength with which opinions are held on the obscurest of topics here on SF.

Can't we all live under a big tent, where variety is the spice of life? To be sure, there's objectively good and objectively bad, but there's certainly room for variety -- witness the spectrum between Tira and Cleav. Why cannot ticket pockets, patch pockets, cuffs, and flat hems, peak and notch all live under that same broad roof of tolerance?

.....

Or are we all Republicans now?

:nest:

(Everyone relax. That's a joke.)

Only if you think that Noodles is representative of the American People.

------

I have no issue with ticket pockets on other people. I have issue with them on my stuff. And they won't stop me from buying a jacket if I like the jacket enough.
