I don't think I've ever seen anyone so unhappy to be posting their pictures on a men's fashion forum.

Looks better w/o the barbour Kai. Also, why so serious?

It's just my normal expression. My wife calls it my "happy face." My mouth just naturally frowns. People often think I'm sad or angry when I'm not.

Here's a picture of me fishing several years ago. I remember it fondly as one of the best times of my life. My expression doesn't reflect that.

Just want to point out that this has (surprisingly?) turned into a fascinating discussion! This is the kind of stuff i joined the forum to read about and it looks like we're actually making some progress here!

I can't participate, but this thread made me realize that I need to buy some more streetwear for hanging out on weekends. Most of my non-CM stuff is from 2-3 years ago, when I was 130 pounds heavier, save for a couple jeans and hoodies.

More thoughts on movement. I wonder if the SWD photo stances give a better idea of how the clothes look in motion...

Possible - they tend to be more random rather than the robopose.

Anyway, regarding my suggestion for Kai's fit, here's some similar looks that wouldn't be out of the comfort zone. IIRC there have been more looks with Barbour jackets, but this should better show what I meant. Hat optional etc. I think with the posted jacket/jeans/boots something earth toned or more high contrast (not blue/black) would work best.

Too much jaw-jaw, not enough war-war.

^ hahaha

Damn, walked by a shop window and it felt like looking through a wormhole at myself 10 years ago. Pics later tonight.

Well, I managed to salvage some not too terrible photos from those I took... this is not especially for the challenge BTW, it's exactly what I would have worn today anyway. Looking at these pictures, I definitely need to get these trousers hemmed. This is the only problem with being short...

Deets: jacket is a Nigel Cabourn treated canvas Somervell bomber; scarf (seen in some of the outdoor pics) is my mum's clan plaid; shirt is a Patrik Ervel 'Mid-Century'; trousers are Naked & Famous Weird Guys; and the boots - which I got only recently and I am still not sure about - are hand-made here in Tokyo by a friend of my wife's.

Still wearing my bike mitts (bike out of shot to the right...)

Don't know how well this approximates SWD as opposed to MC casual. Anyway, this is what I would typically wear on any given weekend this time of the year.
