Jacksonville has shown in the first two weeks that it's going to provide stiff competition for worst team in the league. When you're tanking for Clowney, you need to pull out all the stops.

Boooooooooo

I think the Browns made a good trade btw. Running backs tend to be a dime a dozen, and TR is not a once in a generation/draft talent. . But #1 picks are solid gold.

This. Richardson has not shown himself to be an elite back, and the Browns made a rational decision to take a talent hit in an unpromising season for a good chance to be a better team (if they don't botch their draft picks) in coming years.

That's a big "if" and since this is Cleveland I totally expect them to butcher their draft picks.

Totally get that, which is why I phrased it that way. But I guess the question is what one sees as the opportunity cost -- what they might have been expected to do had they kept Richardson.

I read an interview with Mike Holmgren where he said that he offered his "entire draft" to Indy for the right to draft Andrew Luck, but was turned down. But the second best player in that draft was Trent Richardson - and now Indy's got them both

I really wish there was a WAR metric for football players because it is so hard to evaluate players against each other. I guess that is what makes football more exciting, can't predict it!

Not so sure about that. It's FAR to soon to say anyway.

Just to be clear, it was Mike Holmgren who said that, not I. But he's no longer with the Browns so take that however you will

When the Browns do something other than draft a 28 year old QB in the 1st round, I'll believe their front office has a brain .Until then, I assume they are useless and incompetent, personnel changes notwithstanding.

Matt Schaub throws another pick 6 to allow Seattle to tie the game. That makes 3 pick 6's for the season. Matt really sucks now.

Did you hear the stat that Alex Smith is 24-5-1? He is one of the most undervalued QBs in the league.

Awesome. The Cheifs should trade him for someone crappier at football. That would make me happy.

Peyton looks like he's on a mission after last season's disappointing end.
