We are moving to a new apartment and need some new furniture for our living room. Most of it has been picked out and ordered. I'm mostly curious what you guys think of the layout and the aesthetics of the overall composition. If there are individual pieces that are absolutely horrible though, feel free to chime in.

3. Knoll Florence Knoll sofa

5. Tom Dixon Mirror Ball lamps (arranged on stand)

6. Cappellini Lotus Attesa lounge chair (actual chair is in tan leather)

We live in a one-bedroom Manhattan apartment. The computer is in the space between the living room and the kitchen. The kitchen is to the left and the dining area is to the south.

looks good? really hard to tell what I'm looking at. are those bookshelves behind the tv? I'm also surprised you have a dekstop, especially in such a small space.

The white surround is the walls.

Thoughts on the rug? We are going cheap with it.

Well, if anybody can defeat the curious beauty of domestic spontaneity, you'd be the guy.

Oh jeezus christ. You realize you're looking at a computer-drawn diagram, right? It goes beyond all credulity to suggest I've defeated "the curious beauty of domestic spontaneity" by taking advantage of technology and basic Photoshop skills to layout a small space where a matter of inches determines whether something will fit.

You are known for your taste in architecture and interior design. Having faith in the taste of those who speak of you, I was looking forward to your input. Oh well.

Anyway, if you think all those interiors you post just happened spontaneously . . .
