Hey guys, my wife wants to get new some new jeans on Saturday and asked that I check what you guys suggest both as good makers, and as good stores in San Francisco. We usually go to AB Fits, but after shopping there for 15 or so years, might need a change.

I know that she prefers something that will not bleed onto furniture and that looks good.

Any help would be great.

Edit: can you move this to the streetwear forum. thanks.

All of the "big" premium brands look good on women. Though they may have some garish washes, brands like 7FAM, Diesel, and TR do know how to cut for women. Obviously some brands cut better than others, but I'm sure she'll consider that on her own. I personally really like the skin tight tapered jeans girls have been wearing as of recent.

I'm not as familiar with women's as with men's stores, but Rolo SOMA (on Howard and 8th or so) usually has a decent selection of women's jeans from various brands. American Rag (on van Ness,) Azalea (um, forget the address, but check our affiliate links for the store address) also have decent women's selections. These stores are all have a fair bit of overlap. For something completely different (but the jeans will probably be too hard core for most women), check out Self Edge, which sells veyr exclusive stuff. Actually, they carry Sling and Stone, which is pretty comfortable and has distinctive hardware.

How tall is your wife? Friend of mine is 6' tall and was pissed at basically not being able to find any Japanese denim that would be long enough (after washing, anyway, aside from maybe wearing some men's cuts). If she's short enough, though, <3 Samurai Geishas, so you might want to take a trip to Self Edge. Personally, I loathe current fad of painted on, look-at-my-labia-fade jean-tights.

If she wants something more mainstream, Earnest Sewn still does some of the very best wash work out there. Kohzo does some really interesting stuff if you can find it. Kuyichi's pretty interesting, though your cold, dead capitalist bourgeoisie soul may cause them to combust on contact.

Yeah, my wifer only wears 7FAM and COH and they look pretty good, some washes look horrendous but there are some cool raw-like washes that I dig. Joe's Jeans also seem to do nice cuts for girls.

Azalea in Hayes Valley has lots of brands to try. They may have some different stuff than AB. FWIW I think 7FM look really good on most women. For those of curvy booty, Lucky (!) has some good fits.

I read the title. My first inclination was to tell you that I did not know that denim, like for instance, palm trees has male and female versions. Huh. No wonder Japanese denim is so expensive, must be hard breeding them... Oh, as for the thread I cannot add muich. My wife found a pair of one-wash Gap jeans in the UK that were IIRC made of Japanese denim fabric. Don't really remember more about them. They were not that cheap though but she did like the cut and colour.

I dont know about the quality of the denim or workmanship on the jeans

but J Brand skinny jeans look hot on a lotta girls
and there not distressed at all and it makes it sexier

also if your girls really skinny
Superfine looks decent

these two are brands not every girl is wearing unlike 7s and COH, which I think are played out

it depends on her body type a lot imho.

My ex gf likes acne, apc stuff, though I wanted her to try 45rpm and sam geisha...

Fabric and washes are garbage, though. Lucky's only strength is cut, but when the Gap does better washes and uses better fabrics while charging one third the price, that's not enough for me.

I really like Acne and J Brand. Those are the two that I think look really good. I have seen a few girls that look awesome in the tight denim birds but they fit so weirdly that it's kind of a rarity for that to happen.

What a perfect time to be looking for women's jeans in San Francisco..
We JUST got in the new Spring line from Sling & Stones.
You can't ask for better cut and quality for a pair of women's jeans.
We've got natural and synthetic dyed selvedge in all three of their cuts.
We're actually releasing them tomorrow when we open.

We should have all the sizes still by the weekend, we've had quite a few women waiting for the selvedge versions of what they released last year..

So yeah, to recap.
Come to Self Edge, we'll make sure you get something very unique..
