Alden Rugged Indy or Red Wing Heritage Beckman or other?

How is the sizing on the 9030's?

are those 9030 hard to break...? it's really look rugged boots...

I'm a 9D measured on the Brannock device. I wear an 8.5D for the 9030 and for reference an 8D for the iron ranger. I think you can safely stay true to size for the 9030 especially if you wear thicker socks or if you ant to add a thin insole. However I like my boots a little more snug (not uncomfortably so) and I wear thinner socks so 8.5 fits me perfectly. As far as breaking in, well, they're Red Wings so they are tough but compared to the Irong Rangers the 9030 has been a pleasure to break in. They are lovely boots.

everything mentioned in this thread is a great boot (i have all of them except the whites), but the beckman is going to be the best for what you described.

and only total wimps have a problem breaking them in.
