ALFRED SARGENT Appreciation: Handgrade, Exclusive, etc. - Page 62

Thanks - the only AS shoes I have are thin red line monks presumably 99 last and they fit well slightly on the large side. Not sure re instep etc but these ones I have seem to have less creasing wherethe foot bends than CJ for example so maybe this last is better for me? Measuring my foot its around 29 cm and 11 across.

decisions decisions

get the moores or get a pair of shell boots.

too many shoe choices, not enough rack space

the moores at that price point with trees and shipping is really hard to pass up

Can anyone advice as to what size would be best in the AS 109?

I wear :

Carmina Forest : UK 8 - Have a bit of space, not a super snug fit

Vass F-Last : 41.5 EU - Fits pretty well, less space than the carmina forest last

C&J 348 Last - UK 8 - Similar fitting to the Vass

I am thinking of UK 7.5 in the AS109 which might need a bit more breaking in but will mould to my feet after a break in.

Thanks

Well, for an unknown last, I would go for the UK 8, it's much easier to deal with a bit of room than no room.

Yeah those were my initial thoughts. I'll go with that, thanks wurger

strange, AS 87 is a generous last, shouldn't go half a size up.

Strange indeed, I just received boots in 87 last and it is a generous last.

I know.  I am very particular re. heel slippage and cramped toes, however these AS 87 in Chelsea boots fit very nicely for me.  I didn't try the AS 87 in UK 8 so perhaps the fit could be even better...the 8.5 is not as snug as all the other lasts I mentioned, however it is 100% comfortable - no need for different socks, heel pads or anything.  On the other hand, I hated all the other lasts when they were half a size larger than what I stated in the previous post, due to heel slippage (or the enormous toe box with the C&J 325).

@Sartorial Scum - maybe better you follow the advice of wurger and laufer, they're likely to have a lot more experience with AS than me.

Need some size advise, if I take 42 (8UK) in Vass U-last would I be ok with an 8 in the AS 109 and 724 last?
