Feeling good this morning, so I am giving Dmash a reprieve, since it was his "deletes" that prompted this action. But, let no man say that they have not been warned. I honestly don't care if you are closing your listing to give the item to a dying man. Write that down. Do no delete. Read all the ******* rules. They are there for 2 reasons:
1) Allow the database to be a permanent record useful for both buyers and sellers.
2) Don't advertise anything that breaks the Terms of Use for another site, especially one that could murder us all in a week. We don't make a centavo when you guys are making money (yes, recouping your costs is making money, otherwise, it's a sunk cost.) We are not going to allow you to get us into trouble.
Cheers,
Fok.

I agree. Having the information saved will help others with sizing. When I google search for a specific item's measurements I am taken to some sf links.

LA Guy, you should also give people timeouts for not closing listings when the item sold.

Thank you LA Guy, I really do appreciate it, I was pretty upset about that.

I will re-read the B&S rules now just to double check everything.

*Just to double check, it IS acceptable to put in bold and underline at the top of a listing when the item does get sold correct? As that would have no info deleted out but would just further exploit that the item is sold? Thanks

Not sure exactly what you mean, but the best thing is just to write "SOLD" beside the listing.

Timclubmaster is now out of B&S.

You guys have got to be kidding me, right? It says, right up there in the beginning of the rules, and in threads in both MC and SW&D, that all infractions will get hit with a ban and a $500 fine. And some dimwit goes and does that, just a day or so later? You really gotta be ******* stupid.

Who replaced the Fok with the Grinch :(. j/k, I actually understand why draconian adherence to the B&S rules could be beneficial. After all, just look at sufu's market :fu:

Is it ok to delete photos to replace them with better ones? Sometimes I make the listing at work and just put up a crummy fitpic and then take better pictures once I get home.

not to be a contrary dick, but what's the point of leaving up old selling information when it's impossible to find it through search? :(

Closed listings still come up in the search. For example, in B&S MC if I search "Incotex" by thread and relevance the first and fourth results are closed listings.

That would be fine. We just don't want people just deleting entire listings after they are done. It looks ugly, and decreases the value of the database.

had to go back and edit my current listings to put back the descriptions and pics of sold items

just to clarify, what about titles? if i am selling two different shoes and one sells, can i remove that second item in the title or leave full titles as is?

edit: do i need to go back and edit my closed listings as well? i think i deleted some pics and wrote sold while removing the price. or is it just from now on including my current listings?

This becomes especially important when the items are in multiple sizes. Interested in the answer as well.

they want you to leave the information up as a reference for people looking at the going rate of stuff...so I imagine the answer is "no", because they want the stuff to be easy to find.

You can just create multiple seperate listings, I believe.

Leave it as is. I'm sure that even the dumbest reader will realize that something with a bold "SOLD" beside one item will realize that the item is sold.

The rules are so easy to follow. You actually have to go out of your way to break them.

This is to serve notice to everyone that I will be going through and issuing bans tomorrow. If your listing is in violation of any of the rules, and in particular, contains any text that could get us in trouble with Paypal, you will be barred from B&S permanently, unless you are making enough to justify the $500 fine (people have actually paid this.) So, you've got about 12 hours to fix ****. Happy Saturday night.

what about threads that have been closed for a long time, but have been in your signature box? i haven't updated it in forever besides answering a few sizing questions. i have been meaning to create a new thread, but i've been busy with other things and have never gotten around to doing so.

and can you please get rid of the In Time Out? It's a vestige of the old system that is quite meaningless, but really annoying to look at.
