My water pipes run along the exterior walls of my house. During the day, the cold water comes out hot because it's 100F outside. I have to wait a minute and waste a bunch of water to get cold water.

Even it's the smallest problem I have right now, I'm pissed about shoe shops.

Shop 1: Appr. 10 different models from Allen Edmonds. Always only in one color and none in my size.

Shop 2: Appr. 20 or 25 models from Crockett & Jones... only 3 pairs in my size, none of them a style I'd buy.

I would have even been willing to pay retail but meh. Looks like my only choice is to order them over the internet but how am I supposed to know which size and last will fit?

Welcome to the real world available to 99% of the workforce. Chances are ... your "superior" did the job you are doing -- at similarly low pay -- at some time in the past.

As a young architect (way back when) it was often joked that the better firms (artistically speaking that is ... we're not talking SOM) charged students to work for them.
