J Crew and Ralph Lauren are showing a lot of styles of jeans and pants rolled to top of shoe or in some cases above the ankle. I view this as a pretty cool look. I would be interested in hearing some different viewpoints on this look.

I'd only do this with jeans and interesting shoes - would not do it with black boots to avoid looking like a skinhead, which around here would be the bad type of skinhead (aka white supremacist).

I find any casual pant rolled up past the ankle to be very affected a la Hamptons, Nantucket etc.

I only rolled up a pair of jeans that far once many years ago, I was ankle deep in backed up toilet water (with all the trimmings!!) in the basement of my parent's business.

It's classic and chic. I was watching Alain Delon playing Tom Ripley in "Purple Noon" and the clothing/fashion is timeless. It reminds me of Mediterranean style.

Deja-vu...I did that with my pyjama bottoms just last Sunday once I noticed that suddenly my bathroom was overflowing because of a blocked sewage line! Taslk of putting your foot in it..disgusting. P.s. notice in deference to you and other mods/skins here I did not overgeneralise with my aforementioned skinhead statement

It's pretty popular amongst the hipster/hippie crowd on campus. Some of them pull it off well. It works with a casual summer/spring outfit. I've seen it done well with jeans and dark khaki cords with things like tshirts/flannels/etc... It's not something i'd do around in a big city, but in florida, it works. Looks more natural around nature than lots of buildings.

I did it at a concert when I was wearing too long jeans and I didnt want them getting dirty in the mudd (we were in the infield fo a racetrack). I also did it when I got my Crates and I was wearing them before getting them hemmed. I would do it anytime I actually need to roll up my pants (at the beach and dont want to get water on them). It's become too faddish already with every girl and every other guy doing it.

I dig it. recently instead of cuffing my jeans, I'll double fold/roll them until they're almost a bit high. I guess it depends on the shoe and the fit too.
