Romantic Europe meets NYC: the ROBERT GELLER thread - Page 268

Quite ground breaking if this really comes into fruition. Picking pieces up from runway to be made in the size of my choosing? Assuming that we are talking about the such pieces that mostly likely won't make it to mass production, wouldnt it cost big bucks to get things made that are essentially 1 of 1 (if say someone wants a size 52 of a runway piece made)? Or did i miss somewhere the minumum number of orders required for each piece in a specific size, in order for the production facilities to accommodate to this type of endeavor?
This is like the next level retail experience...

The first set of preorders will be for SS14, yes.

Thanks, jibak. There will be a minimum number of orders to make up the minimum. Often, a couple of intrepid retailers might order the piece, but not in sufficient volume to make the minimums, and so things just don't get made. We will have the opportunity to help some really great pieces actually make it to market, and not just our little place. And yes, it's a bit next level. If we are going to do something, we may as well do it awesome, right?

I know the shops are getting RG stuff in, but I haven't seen any new stock hit the online stores in the last few weeks =/

...well, except Anture..but you know..

I was wondering the same thing, hasn't been much since the wave of geller seconds dropped. Hope this isn't a trend for future seasons.

Everybody got the shipment with the leather two weeks ago and SSense added stuff a week ago. It'll come lol

Glad to see Geller is back at Assembly!

Now if they just brought back the Key Shop...

There are usually two to three drops for every brand. If you've seen 2, there is probably still a third to come. It's early still (well, sort of).

I think the only drop left for Geller Fall is the collab with that Japanese outerwear company. But I could be wrong.

You could be right, you could be wrong. I actually have no idea.

Now, a bit more news. Apart from the preorders, we will stock a very small selection of Robert Geller items for SS14. It's a test to see if you guys are actually interested in the stuff. We will pricematch other retailers for all Styleforum members. We are not allowed to presell the items. However, if any of you want a specific piece, in a specific size, especially people with outlier sizes, please email me at styleforummarket@gmail.com, and I'll see about ordering in those sizes, and I can give you an email in the spring once we get the things in. You are under no obligation to buy, but please be cool and only email me about stuff that you actually want, because I am a size 48/50, and I only need so many tencel girdles/chastity belts.

Cheers,

Fok.

I spoke with a buyer for Assembly at some party after the runway (not related) and he spoke to me about the upcoming season. Pretty much expect them to carry a lot more Geller these coming seasons as they are going more to that direction of product.

Forward put their Geller stuff online. It is a mix of current season (though not much), past season (on sale), and seconds. I think the model in the gray denim could probably size up.

Also Peter Nguyen is selling a couple Geller pieces from his closet. Crazy AW10 Riding Trench already sold, but a cool Geller x CP trench is still available (size 48, $250).

This is a different one from the Geller x CP trenches that are still available in the SF sample sale.

Forward has had their seconds up for about a month now. And that old season stuff has already been there. I think they just added the grey skinny jeans and the button down.

Yeah, those are some damn skinny jeans.
