Yohji, Or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love The Looser Fit (Yohji Yamamoto Thread) - Page 17

I love SS12 for womens

dunno why but the hairdos fit with the overall outfits so well too. Love silhouettes for the girls better than the bigger men in FW11.

LL

loved these in particular, I wouldnt mind wearing head to toe of the second look if it was all black. However, I feel the color choices and pieces work really cohesively. Loved the vest under the burgundy coat, the way it buttons and how it spaces out the pieces more. Pants are great combined with the lace up boots which are spectacular.

sometimes I want a hat like that

^That first look you posted, Lane, was one of my favorites as well. I thought this coat was simple but incredible. I'd love to see a closeup of the fabric.

Damn, I really like this. Love the colours, not too subdued with the wine/maroon colour and the blue really lifting up the spirits of the ensembles. All the colours worked really well together. The waistcoats with the multiple lapels and different colours on look very nice too.

The hats were all very cool and so were the boots. Yes, even the neon coloured ones (the blues shall be mine!) and the ones with the "Y" emblem. Excellent.

I also really liked this jacket.

It is a definite buy for me once the collection hits stores.

This look is great. The boots are icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

Love the fabric on this.

This cardigan is like the perfect length for me right now.

All in all, not disappointed at all.

Agree with that fit on the long haired guy. Great coat and amazing pants.

Also, Lane I agree with what you said about Yohji doing well within his own space. It's very nice to see older season pieces iterated on in this collection. Feels like fan service sometimes playing spot the reference smile.gif.

The fall show just inspired me to pick up a pair of Yohji pants that were languishing in my cart at Gilt that just came back in stock. Cotton, silk taped outer seam that I think are from Spring 09. They look like they'll be perfect for lounging on summer days.

Can't wait to someone post a fit with those keylime boots. happy.gif

Ivwri and Lane already posted the looks I liked the best. But this overcoat combined with the suit is also pretty great.

Just got back, only browsed through the collection a few times. First impression: not disappointed. Thank god. Second impression, navy is back with a bang. icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif Fucking love Yohji's navy. Keeping up with the colors as we thought, I haven't seen so few black looks since, what, SS97? For a winter collection probably AW03. Really really like the warm tones he's using throughout. Feels a lot more cohesive and explorative than AW11 - I think I like this one better. Keeping up - extending - some of the silhouettes from AW11 but other than that the first thing that comes to mind is that it reminds me in part of AW03 and perhaps a little of AW04 with a softer touch. Some military looks - makes sense I guess, he hasn't really used those since AW08 and they always come back from time to time. Some stand out pieces, some are quoted above. Curious about some of the layered pieces like L15, hoping for a less military influnece iteration perhaps. The fabrics look fantastic! Fewer coats than I hoped for but a few good ones at least. Love that the last few wraps have sleeves and aren't just large stoles, will be interesting to see in person.

Need to digest it a bit more but initial impressions are very good. icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

If they are the ones with wide-ish organza strip on the sides: If you don't like them for whatever reason (size, cut), please sell them to me. I already have the jacket. shog[1].gif

Just going back and looking at some of the details. This coat is so good. I like the colors in the whole look, and the fit of the whole look.
