Bespoke Shirts in Manhattan (NYC) area

I am looking for beautiful bespoke shirts.

Who is the best in the region?

Perhaps who specializes (or leans towards) cutaway/spread collars, high arm holes, modern/slimmer fit.. bold colors/stripes.. with nice selection of colors etc..

and GREAT customer service.. looking to build a LONG term relationship with a tailor... hoping to order shirts every season year after year.

I am a young chap (mid 20s) and I value fine shirts.

Any suggestions appreciated!

While perhaps not the "best" bespoke shirtmaker in the region, the description of what you desire sounds strikingly like Turnbull & Asser house style offerings. I have several T&A bespoke shirts and they are lovely.

That said, I'm trying out some of the other shirtmakers in the area myself at the moment based on recommendations here; namely Geneva and Paris. Personally, I'm not prepared to spend more than $300 per shirt until I refine my style a bit more, so choices are limited. I like options.

Fine shirtmakers, that I am aware of in the region are:

Alexander Kabbaz (high end)
Ascot Chang
CEGO
Geneva Custom Shirts
Paris Custom Shirtmakers
Turnbull and Asser (UK shirtmaker)

There are certainly more as I'm sure will follow.

I get my custom shirts from seize sur vingt and have generally been happy, but will be watching this thread as i haven't really compared with other nyc shops.

I've heard good things about seize sur vingt... are the shirts bespoke or Made to measure?

i would imagine MTM but I could be wrong..

how much per shirt?

What about Leonard Logsdail?

I've heard T&A is great but I've also heard some bad stories about errors in the shirt over and over.. (perhaps due to shirts being made 3000 miles away?) Turnaround time is also... a few months for shirts?

i'd describe ssv as more made to measure than truly bespoke; but to be honest i'm not entirely clear on the distinction myself.

i think shirts will run between 225-275

I met Mike, the owner of Geneva, a couple of years ago when he was visiting Malouf's in Burlingame. Being naive and ignorant, I asked him about handsewn seams on shirts, and let's just say he didn't think too much of it.

I actually live in NJ and this would be a shorter trip for me. However, I have to say I am bias towards a shirtmaker in Manhattan as I would imagine they would have a better selection of fabrics.

How is your experience with Gambert?

According to their website, prices are about $120-130 for a 100count shirt. Does that seem reasonable? And also, as previously mentioned, how is the quality? Is the trip to Manhattan to CEGO a better investment?
