I'm ordering a pair of EG Farringdon's in walnut country calf. Just wanted a very simple and elegant shoe.

Which last do you think is better for this particular shoe, 82 or 888? I like and can comfortably wear both lasts. Just wondering if anyone has an opinion..

TIA

888 is a nice last, but I find it too square for my taste. I much prefer the softer 82.

Thanks guys. I should have mentioned that I have done my web homework and have seen all the pics that you have all thoughtfully posted. Since I've never seen the Farringdon on an 82 I guess that's my question...How do you think it will look on an 82? My narrow foot is a 7.5-8 D in EG (UK) sizing. The 202 and 606 do not fit me as well, and look kind of awkward even in the narrower C (UK) sizing.

Also, any opinions on walnut country calf for this model?

thanks

I will be receiving this shoe within the next 10 days. I ordered it in walnut cc on the 606 last. HAF sole and extended welt. I will post pics in this thread as soon as they arrive. And much thanks for the advice!

Post pics and price as I'm thinking of placing a MTO order, too and would like to see how prices have jumped over the last year.

MTO Farringdons arrived today and I'm very pleased. They are simple, casual, elegant and are an easy match with lots of the stuff I wear. I was worried about the wide welt perhaps unbalancing the design but I think it looks fine. Your thoughts?
